Does anyone know what time of day these will be held? I gotta try and get out there tomorrow if Wed-Thurs practices are before 4 PM.
I know that tomorrow's practice is at 11am. For anyone that has been to one of the Florham Park practices... do the players hang out and sign autographs after? Are there bleachers?
Okay, so let me get this straight. The state of NJ gives the Jets 20 acres of highly desirable, prime virgin woodland on which to build a brand new, multi-million dollar, "five star" practice facility. They spend a ton of money on multiple outdoor and indoor practice fields, weight rooms, cafeterias, architecture design, landscaping, etc. And they don't include bleachers for the local fans? I swear to God, if this wasn't so God damn pathetic it'd be laughable. I'm disgusted.
From what i understand, that was the whole rationale behind having TC in Cortland. Woody Johnson is a fucking dickhead.
its going to look like a elementary school soccer practice with everyone having their own chairs and cheering on the players with no bleachers. Great, the Jets will look like Naismith elementary school until they get bleachers. Ghey
When I was there for minicamp in June a lot of players were really cool about signing autographs and even taking pics. I got D'Brick, Clowney, Richardson, Mangold, Wallace Wright, and a few others. It is pretty shocking that such a state of the art facility and no bleachers. You're literally like 20 feet away from the fields (not even) and just a rope/ plastic fence separates the fans from the fields.
That's cool. I really want to get guys like Rhodes, Revis, Keller, Sanchez, Mangold, and Scott. I've already got Rhodes but I'd like to get him on a mini-helmet.
It's more than shocking, it's absolutely bizaare. This had to be a conscious decision. They thought of everything else. Someone in the planning stage had to have mentioned it and the decision had to have been made to not include this most basic of comfort items for the fans. There is no way this was unintentionally left out, they did not want bleachers. Public restrooms would have been nice too, and perhaps some drinking fountains and/or soda machines or a snack bar. Millions of dollars spent and the facility is less fan-friendly than we had over at Hofstra. I never thought I'd see the day when I welcome the way things used to be. The old stadium was fine, the views were fine, and even my 5 hour roundtrip commutes to Hofstra were okay. This owner we have is one hell of a liar and hypocrite. As a season ticketholder, he sends me letters telling me how much he "appreciates the fans" and all the support we give the team, yet he continues to shit on us whenever he gets the chance. Every time I turn around it's one more thing. I swear to God, some sportscaster needs to strap on a pair of balls the next time he interviews Woody Johnson and call him on all this bullshit. "Mr. Johnson! How come there are no bleachers at the practice facitility? Some of the fans are mighty pissed about your lack of concern for your loyal fan base. What about a Fan Appreciation Day Mr. Johnson?"
The thing is you won't get to see much unless you're in the first few rows of standing fans or you're like 6'6"+
Have you sent them a letter? Or...better yet someone that can actually be there(I live close by but am away for the month) should organize a petition....
Wow I had no idea they had all these issues, I didn't go for any of the minicamps and of course they didn't have any other public practice before that.
hey its a tough economy.... oh wait not for woody and his psls. hmm, you know i could believe that it just might be sheer and utter stupidity. there is obviously a lack of common fucking sense in woodys inner circle. then again he may just hate jets fans, i am going to go with stupidity. i think its time for a poll.
I will be there with a #24 Ty Law Jersey with a blue Minnesota Twins cap. If you see me please say hello!
