on one side of the coin; I love this guy's persona, exudes confidence... and hopefully the team pick up on it.

on the other; if the team doesn't pick up on it, his talk can get old pretty quickly in NY.

i do crack a smile every time i read one of his quotes though, so hopefully there's more of the former in the immediate future.

It will probably never get old this year..if we keep losing next year it will in a hurry.

He does have a lot to say. I think he needs to reign it in, and probably sooner than later, or it will make things harder on the team. He can say all this behind closed doors, but I don't know if doing it in the press is the greatest idea.

Yeah, I like the confidence and attitude but if the team starts out slowly the media will be ripping him to pieces.

I don't want him to rein it in a damned bit. I like his bravado and his tough exterior. He just needs to back it up with excellent coaching. Not every coach has to be a starch-laden drill sergeant type. They don't have to be tight-lipped intelligence freaks and they don't have to be angry a-holes. They just have to be able to lead men and coach football.

Yup'! I could handel a 8/8 season as long as our Defense kicks major arse. About time we had A COACH that is tough! Lets get the D going this year, develope Sanchez and be an established franchise and playoff contender for many years under Rex.

Ryans talk is great, if we lose games this season and its because of poor quarterback play or injuries then those who rip Rex are idiots. The Jets time to contend isn't this season, it's a season or two from now when Sanchez is developed and has a go to receiver and we have solid players on the defensive line from a draft or two.

Anything better than 7-9 this season will be a shock for me, especially since we are going in with a rookie QB. The defense alone will have to win us games, and that's asking a lot.

How is it gonna make it harder on the team ? Other teams won't let Jets win now ?

I like the fact that Ryan is starting Sanchez against the Ravens as well... I think it's a calculated move that is going to show Sanchez what a real NFL D looks like... I'm sure he knows what the Ravens are going to throw at him. My guess is the Ravens players know it's all in good spirits.....

He WANTS to make it harder on the team.....that's the whole idea....put them under the gun.

...and until we see that it does, or doesn't, work....keep talkin' Rex.

Insanity is doing the same shit over and over and expecting a different outcome. We need a change here.
