IMO, it's disrespectful. He was in an open competition with Ratliff, who at least had one great pre-season under his belt. If it was Farve saying it, that's one thing. But it was Clemens, who IMO had up until that point had only shown himself as a failure. And that was only one quote I could find. But there were numerous others, along the same lines. Ratliff, on the other hand, didn't get into that. He just went about his business. You won't hear that from Sanchez, even though Sanchez knows like everyone else that he's the starter. He is only respectful to Kellen. Yes, you're right. To each their own. I just didn't like it -- not from someone who had absolutely no accomplishments on this team.

Confidence or no confidence, saying you're expecting to be under center on opening day sounds pretty much like he thinks he's the starter. You called me a liar, and you owe me an apology, dickhead.

Just to clarify...Kellen showing confidence in himself isn't a sign of disrespect to others....at least, not in this case. Despite the media firing bullets constantly at him and everything else he's had to deal with (QB competions, Favre deal), he's still continues to work hard.....and i respect that. Do I want him to start over Clemens.....I'm not sure he's got the talent. BUT....to question his integrity and work ethic.....shows what an uneducated neanderthal you are.
