This is all good news. Revis being out of practice is bad news. Sit him until the 1st game against the Rams.

Thanks for clarifying that having a Peyton Manning type player would be a good thing.

    Curious?

I know Sanchez looks good and the defense should be one of the top 5 in all of the NFL...but as Jet fans how much are you guys looking forward to watching T.O. with Buffalo tonight (even though it's only preseason) and do you guys consider the Bills a threat now inside the same division as New England and Miami?

You guys must be thrilled it's my boy Benigno and Evan. Two Jet fans! When I was there I would spend time talking Giants with Joe.

sanchez has already proven that he is a very smart player. "He never makes the same mistake twice". The guy seems like he knows more about the jets offense than clemens does, which is pathetic really.

Let's temper our expectations a bit, Peyton Manning is one of the greatest of all time. If Sanchez is even half of what Manning is I'll jump through the roof.

Folks are being too hard on our man Kellen Clemens. Think about it: he's been the second quarterback for four years sure, but who has he backed up? A two-time Comeback Player of the Year and last year's runner-up MVP, a HoF shoe-in, and a top-five draft pick. The only playing time he got was on a team that couldn't have won with any quarterback.

He hasn't been given a fair shot to succeed, but that's the NFL. If Clemens had been given the same support that say, Rex Grossman was given, I think he would have developed nicely.

On a side note, what a pile of steaming dog shit the quarterbacks of the 2006 NFL draft turned out to be. Let's recap:

Vince Young: suicidal, delusional, Kerry Collins' back-up.

Matt Leinart: conceited, feminine, fighting to keep the back-up job right now.

Jay Cutler: diabetic, arrogant, best of the group but the only one not with his original team.

    Kellen Clemens.

Tarvaris Jackson: poor decision maker, losing his job to Sage Rosenfels.

Charlie Whitehurst: I dunno, third stringer still?

Brodie Croyle: injury prone, Herm Kiss of Career Death.

Brad Smith: forced to change positions.

Nobody else really worth mentioning. What a steaming pile of douchebags and underacheivers.

Is this really Sid? I have a hard time believing it is but if so welcome to the board. I used to enjoy the Sid and Joe show.

To answer your question, I'm not looking forward to watching TO with Buffalo tonight, I can't get excited for any preseason game 1 not involving the Jets. I don't consider the Bills a threat at all, they are a trainwreck waiting to happen IMO. I don't consider the Phins to be a threat either but unfortunately I don't see the Jets as a threat this year either.

I see the Pats running away with the division this year with the Jets and Phins fighting it out for 2nd and a slim chance at a wildcard.

When it comes to jumping the gun, this statement is right up there with Jeaux's Jam Russell predictions.

Kind of funny - what happened to all those folks who wanted us to draft Leinart??? Instead we were smart and drafted DBrick who is very good and about to become a great OT. Meanwhile Lienart is walking around w/a clipboard.

    1. Aside from being the 2nd tier QB, he has stunk up every TC he has participated. Fair shot or not, that's not how you inspire confidence in your team.

    2. That his class produced sorry bunch of QBs doesn't mean Kellen can suck with impunity. I mean, who gives it a flying fuck? If he sucks, he'll have to hold the clipboard. That's all there is to it.

I wasn't one of them. I warned against it - and said 'Avoid this kid like a plague.'

I like Sanchez but the success of a rookie quarterback is suspect at best for long term results. I think it is better for this season to have Sanchez instead of Clemens, but the long term effect of that may not be worth it.

I don't get what you're saying. Are you saying if Sanchez is sucessful in his rookie year he's going to have a bad career?

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but both Clemens and Sanchez looked like shit today. Overthrows were plentiful. In my opinion, the winner of todays QB compatition was Eric Ainge. Scarey....
