+1. Sanchez has been outshining Clemens thus far which makes me really happy about that trade. Speaking of which, I wonder how these assholes would spin it:
Clemens only real shot at starting was to have Sanchez fail in the competition, and that's not happening. Clemens has never looked great in camp and he would have had to look truly great to have a shot at winning the job absent a failure by the Jet's new QB.
The comment about being accountable for his teammates stands out as the type of comment a leader would make... hard to believe he is what 21?
HAHAHA What a bafoon!!! I nearly pissed myself when I heard we made the trade to get Sanchez I was so Happy!!! I honestly didn't think Sanchez would be blowing Clemens' doors off the way he has been, but with our OL and running game and defense, he's walking into the most ideal situation for a rookie QB
I think this is the first time I heard anything about J-Co, since we got Rex. By Friday Sanchez is going to be the official starter.
Wow, who were those two idiots shaking their heads expecting us to take? We obviously weren't trading up for Crabtree or Orakpo.
I'm going to be happiest when Sanchez starts a preseason game and does well to show he's going to adjust to the speed of the game. You can usually tell pretty early.
Players taken after Clemens: Devin Hester, Gregg Jennings, Maurice Jones Drew, Anthony Schlegel, Owen Daniels, Brandon Marshall and many more. Leon was taken a few rounds after Kellen even. Tanny has been great at drafting players, but he might have missed on this 2nd rounder. I wish Clemens would have succeeded too. I don't know what he is missing.
I agree Mississippi Jet, if Sanchez come out smooth and seems "in control" of the game we will know if we are going to have a solid year from him. If he comes out and misses receivers badly or takes too long to get the plays out or throw a pick or two it'll probably be a sub-par season. Both Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco had pretty good pre-seasons for rookies so I'm fairly confident in that assessment. EDIT: Anthony Schlegel NYJ2K09? He's out of the league......
 That was a joke to see if people would catch it. He was taken after Clemens though, but sucks. The rest of the list is true too.
Why do I get the feeling that Sanchez playing well is too good to be true? I loved the draft pick but still have this gnawing feeling that he needs more seasoning before we throw him to the wolves. Guess I'm just another Jets fan with an inferiority complex. I really do want Sanchez to succeed though.
He's going to have a very promising season and then retire with the HIV in April...two days after the draft.
I think he lacks confidence... he had it in that 4th Q against Baltimore and McCairens failed him... he has never looked the same even in preseason.
I'm excited about Sanchez but I still think Clemens deserves a chance to prove himself in a game. Maybe Smith, Stuckey, or Keller can help him regain it.
