If this dumbass can get his head on straight he could really do some damage, but that's a huge IF.

I'm sure him and Clowney would get along well.

I'd be willing to take a chance on him. Same idea as with Burress... Low-risk, high reward. Cheap 1 year, incentive laden deal. I don't see how it harms the NYJ in any way if he doesn't produce. We could just let him walk.... IMO, our WR corps is absolutely dreadful and we need to make a move.

I'd take Jones if somebody gets dinged up in training camp or the pre-season. I think Jones has the potential to be a solid number two. (insert joke here). The problem is, we already have two potential number two's in Stuckey and Smith and a great number two in Cotchery. If we're going shopping, we should get a number 1 or save our money.

That's pushing it. He's been sniped with blow multiple times, and went to rehab for addiction.

We are loaded with No. 2. This could be a very explosive offense.

I'd sign him for a million plus incentives. Low risk-high reward.

    Amani Toomer-WR- Giants Jul. 29 - 10:22 pm et

The NY Daily News "hears" that the Jets are exploring the free agent wide receiver market.
Possibilities are Matt Jones, Marvin Harrison, and Amani Toomer. SI's Ross Tucker has suggested that Toomer could be a fit. He's a pure possession receiver, though, and the Jets already have one of them in Jerricho Cotchery.

I didnt think this needed its own thread, but it looks like the jets are looking into signing another wr. I dont know how i feel about signing a veteran though. I think if they want to sign anyone i would like it to be Matt Jones, cause i think he i still young and has tons of potential if he can get his head on straight
