Okay, this will probably sound like a dumb question, but hell I've asked far dumber questions before...

So, I'm flying over to the US in August and I happen to be in Washington on the day of the preseason game at the Ravens, so I figured I'd just drive over to Baltimore to catch the game. I bought tickets today. It's my first Jets game ever so despite it being a preseason game I'm pretty excited! Anyway, my question is (and bear in mind I usually go to soccer games where opposing fans are seperated by rows of police...) how safe will I be decked out in Jets gear? Am I likely to get any hassle?

    Yours sincerely,

    The Limey :)

You'll be fine. It's the preseason. Just be respectful.

You'll be ok...As Americans we all love our teams like no tomorrow but for the most part (90%) of fans know and understand that this is just a game and it's not like these players are playing for our Country or anything like that...It's not like Soccer where those fans are willing to kill other fans just because they root for an opposing team. You'll be perfect while leaving America in one solid piece

On a side note...I really cant wait for this preseason...Mark Sanchez dropping back and hitting Cotchery or Keller, Sanchez handing the rock off to Shonn Greene, Shonn Greene running an opposing DE/LB/CB/S over, Vernon Gholston putting some pressure on the QB from the outside...Wow, it's going to be a preseason to remember. I know the game plan will be plain and simple/black and white type of play calling but still, I'm excited to see alot of these players and damn does it feel good knowing that David Harris' hammy problems are a thing of the past.

Knock on wood for no serious injurys to key players.

    1. make sure to sit in the visitors terraces.
    2. the Ravens United Army and the Baltimore Bulldog Ultras will spend most of the game chanting obscene slogans at you. Do not be provoked into a response. Just keep your eyes on the pitch.
    3. If you're wearing your Jets kit on the lift, mind your bollocks. Some cheeky bastard may try to kick you.
    4. After the match, the constables will escort visiting supporters back to the underground station.

Here's hoping the lads get a good result during your holiday!

"The Limey" will be fine, even with the proper English. Just don't disrespect The Queen while you're here.

Seriously, preseason games are not as intense and there is really no serious rivalry yet between us and the Ravens, despite the offseason manuevers.

Go in Jets gear and have some fun. Yeah, it may get a little testy wearing the green and white but that will be somebody to avoid. Steer clear of the assholes and root as you please.

It will never be anything like a Jets-Dolphins game or Jets-Patriots game.

It's a preseason game you have absolutely nothing to worry about unless you act like a complete raging asshole. There will probably be 12 people in the stadium.

You'll be fine. M&T is actually a really nice stadium. Just don't venture outside of the inner Harbor in Bmore when you leave the game and you'll be safe. Although "The Block" is always fun for a few titties in your face. :metal:

You'll be fine, obviously twown is kidding. It's nothing like soccer (football) games, people are usually very friendly and polite. Even in the parking lot where people are tailgaiting, you'll see hospitable people (I assume this stadium allows tailgaiting).

I personally love to go to away games. Last year I went to the season opener in Miami decked out in NY gear and everyone was great with it. And they're our rival! As long as you aren't a complete jackass, you'll be fine. Have fun at your first game. I hope to see you on TV leading the J-E-T-S chant!

the only thing you need to keep in mind is that if you bring female under the age of 25 (and they check) to an american football game she must be topless. other than that all is cool. oh, and post pics so we can enjoy that 'game'.

    Pre Season games are tame...

You will be fine to repeat the slogan. B-more may give you a hard tim because of rex, but once again..it is pre season.

I went to the Al Groh finale in Baltimore and the fans were great.
I am loud and they didn't really mind because I try to be respectful.

Friendly jabs back and forth especially after Vinny's pre- halftime pick

But it's a nice stadium and the people are nice just one piece of advice.
If you don't have stadium parking, it's a bit of a walk.
