I take a different outlook on this, junc.....I see what you're saying....but here's my take. When the Jets were 8-3....we were in the drivers' seat and basically controlled our own destiny. We lost those games and threw away the division in the process. Miami was there to pick up the scraps and win the division. But they were never in the drivers' seat....hell, they weren't even in the conversation after we beat Titans. Our collapse dictated the outcome of the division.....not the Phins' scraping by on their gimicky offense. The Phins will be exposed this year....which will cause 2 things in my opinion: 1) Chad will be on the IR again and 2) FeelThePain will crawl back into the abyss....never to be heard from again.

I understand that but that was not a certain players fault. In 2002 I felt we had a legit chance, Chad played poorly as did the rest of the O and we lost. In 2004 even had we made one of tose kicks and beaten Pitt we likely wouldn't have beaten NE. In '06 we were luxcky to be there(just like Miami last year). We were in the drivers seat but we blew it and Miami took advantage. It happens, in '02 it was the exact opposite. The team that wins it plays the best from week 1 through week 17 not just for 11 games. Chad has never been healthy 2 straight seasons so maybe he does land on IR again? That is the reason he's not here, if he was durable we'd have had more success this decade and he'd still be here.

Exactly. Everyone from Phins fans to we Jets fans don't go around asking "when was the last time you won the Division?" or "when was the last time you made it to the Second Round?" All anyone ever says about the Jets is, "you haven't won a SB in the last 40 years," because that's what matters most.
