http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/06/23/vontae-davis-was-arrested-on-june-9/ VONTAE DAVIS WAS ARRESTED ON JUNE 9 Posted by Mike Florio on June 23, 2009, 3:14 p.m. EDT Just as the ?Days Without An Arrest? meter was within a week of the all-time record of 32, news has surfaced that Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis was arrested earlier this month in Illinois. Since reports of the arrest didn?t surface for more than an a week after it happened, the meter automatically resets to zero. According to the Daily Illini (via the Miami Herald), Davis was arrested for unnecessary vehicular noise and driving without a valid license. Davis was a first-round pick in the 2009 draft. When Dolphins V.P. of football operations Bill Parcells arrived in early 2008, he declared that he would tolerate no ?thugs and hoodlums.? ------------------------- I'm sure somehow this will turn into a Pennington thread, but just a little summer doldrum news from our AFC East rival.....
'Unnecessary vehicular noise'? Is that like sitting in traffic rattling the windows of all the cars around you with your bass? I was hoping someone somewhere would get arrested for that.
I didn't read the article, but I'm assuming it's for his taking his catalytic converter out. I think kids in my hs used to take it out and it makes your engine obnoxiously loud and it's illegal
The story is bogus. Davis was at the Dolphins facility on June 9th attending an OTA. He had reported his drivers license missing back in Illinois and was issued another one. The man who was actually charged was using Vontae's old license.
Funny how you can't wait to be the first to post potentially bad news that doesn't involve the Bills. I just love how the story turns out to be untrue, it just makes me enjoy your inability to gloat even more.
Chad Pennington will be injured by week 3 and Phins fans will be face-palming the misguided notion that Henne is anything better than a backup.
Man are you ever sensitive. Have a beer would ya (well, when you become of age to drink that is.....)? Relax, this is the NFL, there are assholes on every team. True or not, this is the shit reporters are writing about. More of a commentary as to the shitty writers out there than one BILLS fan trying to find some news, any news, and coming up with stuff like this. Hell, earlier today I saw a story about Leon Washington taking a crap. Do you wanna talk about Pennington for a while?
There was an assumption last season that Chad Pennington would be injured. That didn't happen. In fact he thrived in Miami. The Dolphins have a real good running game and have solidified their OL. Two key factors in protecting a QB. Pennington won't be injured, IMO he will have another great season only this year he will get the Pro Bowl recognition he deserves. I'm sorry but I sense sour grapes. It is no secret that CP enjoyed his finest season as a pro last season as a member of the Miami Dolphins. The success will continue.
I'm looking forward to it. What is it with the Bills anyway. That team is a real head scratcher. There was a drive last year against the Fins where Lynch pounds the ball down the field on our D then we they get to about our five and they take Lynch out, throw the ball three times and end up kicking a field goal. I was happy with it of course but very puzzling. They have the talent. Is it coaching? Side note: Could you be so kind as to point me in the direction of that quote feature. I'm very new here and can't track it down.
In the post you want to quote, find the button that says quote. It'll prompt you to a different screen with everything you need to reply to. You can then use the button at the top to make words bold, etc.... As far as the BILLS, last season was quite frustrating. They started off good enough, but as soon as Trent took one on the chin in the CARDINALS game, he wasn't the same the rest of the way. When he wasn't in, JP Losman was and, well need I say more. The whole Jason Peters episode didn't help either. Dick Jauron is quite the head scratcher. The only reason I can see Ralph Wilson keeping him around for 2009 is that this is Trent Edwards third year. This should be the year that we know if he's got the goods to make it as an NFL starter, or just another marginal QB. If he were to have another Head Coach this year, learning a new system might throw a monkey wrench into his development. Play calling was an issue last year, but more than that was the poor line play, especially on the left side. Their OL has three new players and the other two have switched positions. Whatever happens this year, they will either make the playoffs, or tank and DJ will be gone. I don't like the idea of rebuilding, but I can't stand the idea of DJ being in Buffalo without a playoff appearance, AND a playoff win. He's easily the AFC coach on the hot seat this year.
Not sensitive at all, I just see through you. I wonder how long it would take you to run to this site with "TO destroys yet another team" news. If I had a guess, it's not something you'll go running around making an issue of. But any Dolphins bad news, well you're the first one to post it. You couldn't even wait to see if it was true or not, you probably pulled a groin typing so fast.
Um, OK...... This feels like you have some sort of 4th grader crush on me. Just posting lame news dude. I even referred to it as summer doldrums, but if you want to spin it some other way, then be my guest. I feel sad for you. Maybe one day you'll seek the help you need.
