Posada is a piece of garbage. Ive been saying it for two years. What a terrible contract we gave him. We need to learn to let a guy go a year early rather than keep him 3 years too long. Again, Brian Cashman is a complete disaster. How the man has a job, I have no idea. AGAIN, this is not a baseball teram. Its a collection of cunts.

I guess its between us, Tampa and the Texas-Angels loser for the wildcard? Boton is miles ahead of us. No chance catching them.

The Yankees are really digging themselves into a hole. Since the Boston series they have been awful considering their competition. They've gone 4-6 against mediocre teams and easily could have been 2-8 were it not for some errors on other teams.

5 games back, with their most valuable hitter playing awful, this team looks dead right now...

They will probably rebound but their lackluster effort the last few weeks has shown (Cappy is going to hate this) a total lack of heart and leadership. Yes, these things are often overvalued by the mainstream but I think their impact is actually real and its rare to find a championship team that lacks such traits. I know this is only a small chunk of games, but good teams should not loose 8 in a row to their rival competitor when they are supposedly a relative match in skill, and good teams do not flounder against shit competition over a long stretch the way these guys are. The Sox are just starting to get into the soft part of their schedule, and if the Yankees don't start playing well soon they will be facing a deficit that limits them to the wild-card (think 2007).

I almost forgot to add to my sophisticated analysis: A-Rod is a pussy. I don't like to overlook the Yankees, but I'm really starting to think this team sucks.

I officially hate Arod and wish he had never become a Yankee. If we pay 3/4 of his salary do you think someone would trade some good prospects to us for his gay fuckin broken down post-steroid ass?

Don't worry guys. It's a long season and eventually all these things work themselves out.

At some point GayFraud has to hit a ton of home runs, his career stats say so.

At some point, Jeter has to stop being a DP machine.

At some point Wang has to stop having "one bad inning."

At some point Swisher's amazing OPS has to balance him out.

At some point Posada has to offensively make up for his disgusting defense.

At some point...ah fuck it. At some point Girardi has to get canned and this team has to be rebuilt. I'm still not sure how much blame Cashman deserves, but given that this team full of Al(most)-Stars can't get shit done, the case against him is getting to be hard to fight.

Have the Yanks looked flat recently? Yeah. So I have no problem with saying they haven't shown heart or leadership. The problem I have is when people try to say they don't have it, period. You can't pin those labels on players/managers as though they are intrinsic, internal characteristics... as though that is what has caused the recent poor play.

And really, this is mostly ad hoc reasoning.

When the Yanks reeled off all those walk-off wins or come from behind wins earlier in the season and won nine in a row, did they have "heart and leadership" then? If so, where'd it go? Did they forget how to have heart and how to lead in the past two weeks?

More likely, you're seeing a confluence of real events. Melky jammed his shoulder (and has sucked since then). Joba has had some pretty bad games. Sabathia leaves a game in the second. A-Rod was overworked coming back from his injury or something and has absolutely sucked. Other pitchers started to see that and have pitched around Teixeira. Jeter is hobbled. The team has grounded into DPs at an alarming rate. And probably most importantly, the team has played shitty, shitty defense. Defense that has cost them a few games, at least.

I'm not using those as excuses. Just reasons. Reasons that are more tangible than "heart and leadership." That's basically saying the problem is the Yanks aren't trying and don't have anyone inspiring them to try. I just don't think that's the case.

Or,maybe those wer egames that they were losing for 8 inning and could easily have been 9 more losses in the column. There is something wrong with this team. It doesn't matter who they trade for or who they put on the mound, when they come here for some reason since 03,they fucking suck.

So when they come from behind and win, those were games they could have lost. Obviously they should have been winning the entire time. But when they don't come back, they lack heart and leadership.

Please tell me you see the problem I have here.
