Just bought the annual ProFootball Weekly season preview. They project the Jets to finish 7-9 and in the 4th place in AFC East. Patriots (13-3) Dolphins (9-7) Bills (7-9) Jets (7-9) Our position ratings are as follows: QB: C+ RB: B+ WR: C- OL: B+ DL: B LB: B+ DB: B+ ST: B+
that's a fair assumption. Tougher schedule, new QB, new coach. Its possible. Sophomore slump for the Fins.
So we get mostly B's and B+'s yet we finish last? I guess they dont believe in our coaching staff. I for one finally do. I can't wait to see the nasty swagger this defense has!
If anything we finish above the Bills, thats worst case scenario. I wouldn't underestimate the phins, and of course, write off the Pats at your own risk.
meh...I don't see the Phins going 9-7.....i think last year was a mirage in regards to their success.
As Michael Phelps would say, that is EXACTLY the bulletin board material that you need. I hope there will be a copy in the locker room. :jets:
Here are some player position ratings: RB: Thomas Jones at #15 with a rating of 3.45 (5.0 is the highest, they give Peterson a 4.5) TE: Dustin Keller at #11, 3.35 (listed as a player who has more upside) WR: Jerricho Cotchery is among top veteran prospects outside of the top 30. Coles, btw, is listed at #30 (3.25) C: Nick Mangold at #6, 3.55 (may have room to improve further) OG: Alan Faneca at #6, 3.70 (in decline) OT: D. Ferguson at #23, 3.15 DE: Shaun Ellis at #15, 3.40 DT: Kris Jenkins at #4, 4.00 (has a couple of more seasons in him) ILB: Bart Scott at #6, 3.80 and David Harris at #18, 3.40 OLB: Calvin Pace at #12, 3.50 CB: Darrelle Revis at #4, 3.90 S: Kerry Rhodes at #11, 3.55 return specialists: Leon Washington at #2, 3.80
I love the NFL as much as anyone, but I hesitate to buy season previews published in June. Given typical printing lead times for those annual magazines (I work for one), that probably went to the printer about a week after the draft.
Mangold's better then 6. I certainly don't disagree that 7-9 might be the outcome this year, but I'm a little more optimistic. Granted you can't look at the schedule in June, and it's not like the Jets did well against the "easy" AFC West anyway but the NFC South has three tough teams. Bucs are crap.
pro football weekly better known as toilet paper. nobody wants to jump on the bandwagon until we start winning.
I have the pro football weekly and its retarded. In the same magazine that gives the Patriots (13-3) Dolphins (9-7) Bills (7-9) Jets (7-9) Also gives these Super Bowl Odds Pats 3-1 Jets 18-1 Fins' 22-1 Bills 40-1 that makes a ton of sense right, fuck them.
