Curtis Martin - What he overcame growing up and everything he did for the Jets pretty much locks it up.

Randall Cunningham - Most underrated QB ever. Imagine what he could have done if he hadn't played for the Eagles...

I'll break the format and pick one favorite for each era.

60's Champions: Namath-to-Maynard (Inseparable: The Bomb Combo was the Bomb)
70's Lost Boys: Richard Caster (again, the Deep Ball)
    80's Heartbreakers: Mark Gastineau
    90's Heartbreakers: Victor Green
    00's Almosts: Chad Pennington

But if I had to pick one guy overall, I'll pick from my favorite era/team.

I'm a big of the 80's team, and Richard Todd, Lance Mehl and Darryl Ray are my runner's up, but Gastineau really put the charge in that team and made the defensive side of the ball fun to watch.

Klecko was awesome, but he was hurt quite a bit, especially during the 82 run. He played hurt, but was not as effective. I have about a dozen game tapes from the 81 82 seasons, and it's clear to me that Mark was a much better run-stopper than he's credited for.

Sure, they were plays when he overshot the QB, but you see that all the time today; just as many times he would chase down the run from the backside.

He was 100% effort every play and brought an attitude that's still missing from this defense nearly 20 years later. Hopefully, Ryan will reinstall it.

I can't pick any opponent that killed the Jets (Jim Kelly? He tore our hearts out too many times.) I'd have to pick somebody we consistently got the best of...Daryl Lamonica? Bambi? Hall of Famers that didn't hurt us.

Curtis Martin is my all-time fave.

Non-Jets, I'd have to say Brett Favre, even though he was a Jet for a year. I loved watching that guy play throughout his career.

I look at early photos and say, "Wow, one D player breathes on him, he's dead." He's skinny as anything. What the hell happened, did the human body EVOLVE while we weren't looking? I've said this before. Today's QB is yesterday's LB, yesterday's LB is today's WR. What the frig.

What a class act. And, anyone who wore those orange juice carton abominations back in the day, well, er, I, uh, um, pay your respects just because. Funny how Tampa sucked after treating him like a dish rag. 'The Doug Williams Curse'. Life went full circle. Is he still in player personnel over there? I won't look it up, of course.

Marty Lyons. A bleeder. Not shown here, but his knuckles were always bloody, his pants, too. Gotta love it.
