Of all the papers, and news outlets in NY the NY Daily News was the only paper that stated that the woman had directly accused Rhodes of Rape. It was a lie. The Daily news article came out at 1:30 PM. They had plenty of time to verify what ever they printed. They didn't bother to do it Cimini tagged the article. At the end of the article you will see "With Jonathan Lemire and Rich Cimini" That means he was taking credit for the "Scoop" that Rhodes was in fact accused by this woman of rape. The article is authored by Sarah Armaghan and Oren Yaniv, but they are writing with his approval, and supervision. he is the beat writer and their boss. If he is to lazy to check out their sources, or just doesn't care, as long as he gets a negative "scoop" that is irresponsible journalism. The statement by the prosecutor is a very strong statement, and the tone of it sounds angry. Cimini seldom reports good articles about the Jets, and if he is forced to he always has a negative slant to it. The guy is a creep, and should not be a NY Jets beat writer. I don't want a "Homer as a beat writer, but I don't wany a hater either. Fair would be nice. Boycott this guy, and email the Daily news and tell them you will not support their paper as long as he is the Jets beat writer. Today's article was written by Oren Yantis. One of the original authors of the "Made up article" No Apology, even though it is clear it is them that the prosecutor is talking about. "Information which is being reported through the media that Mr. Rhodes is the subject of a rape investigation is factually untrue and wholly inaccurate and has the capacity to unfairly damage the reputation of Mr. Rhodes.? There has to be some accountability in defaming a young man's reputation. This was serious stuff.
I'm down. I don't buy the newspaper anyway, so it makes it easy for me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is the first time Cimini has been inaccurate in his reports. I guess he just sucks.
The worst part about this is that they refused to acknowledge the mistake and apologize for it IMO. Yes, they could have avoided the mistake easily, but we're all human and do fuck up at times. They could have saved a lot of face by printing a nice apology article today. By not doing so they're coming off as major assholes IMO.
cimini is an egotistical jerkoff who should be fired. the nyjets organization should ban him from the facility and interviewing players and coaches from here on in.

sent this via email.thanks willie for the contact info Cimini owes Kerry Rhodes an apology and the New York Jets fans. I will never buy another paper until such is done. Screw you Cimini and the Daily News urge others to do the same
That's nice, but maybe you should have put a little more effort into your email. Describing why would be a good start.
undeserving bro they will get the point. im not writing a love story. abrasive and foul is key sometimes. sorry to disappoint you.
lol those emails will get thrown out by the pre reading department, you think the editor reads all the emails, he will have people who read them and toss them to the recycle bin. Using language like that will get you nowhere, you might as well not bother, it will give the team of readers a quick laugh, but will have no effect. Presenting a email that is well written and presents reasons for the argument will at least get a second look. If you want to actually get through to the newspaper, i would advise that you don't use words like 'sux' or 'STFU' or 'Screw you'. Trust me, you are wasting your time, if someone was to create a more suitable email, and then ask members to submit it, it would likely make much more of a impact.
I took mostly what flgreen wrote and re-organized it. Feel free to cut/paste and send with your name attached.
I am not doing this to be annoying, but in case people plan on using this to write the daily news, I edited what you wrote for grammatical, etc errors. I didn't touch the content, just tried to make it more "professional" (though I'm sure I made mistakes as well):
for the record or the cause i just resent the generic email.the daily news can think we are a bunch of copycat programmed jerks. instead of sending original heartfelt thoughts.
I agree, this was a terrible mistake by Cimini and the Daily News, they should make efforts to correct this and I would not be suprised if Rhodes took legal action. It would be justified.
