I am really fukcing excited about the '09 team this year and really believe this team will go far under Ryan. With that being said who do you think will have a breakout season?

IMO I like Clowney on the offense, even if he's the slot guy. I can see him getting 600-700 yards and 3TDs this year. I like everything I've seen from him so far, he kind of reminds me of a young Coles (hopefully he will turn out to be better).

I think Danny Woodhead will make the team and we will keep 4 runningbacks. I think he will be of definite use next year after Thomas Jones leaves and we can groom him to be our solid 3rd runningback. (I would call making the team a breakout achievement for Woodhead lol)

    On the D....

Its gotta be Gholston, there is no way he can have a worst season than last year. I don't think he will have a lot of tackles, but if he can pull off at least 5sacks; we as fans will be able to see some signs of life from this guy.

Lito Sheppard is also drooling at the thought of a second chance with this team, I can't imagine he will give anything less than his all. I feel like Revis and Sheppard will have the recievers on lockdown this year.

    What does everybody think?:jets::jets::jets::jets:

Offensively I think this is the year for D'Brick. Now don't get me wrong I think he is a solid tackle but this year I think he brings his game to a whole new level

On D, I gotta go with Calvin Pace, he had a nice year last year and no one really talked about it, I think with Rex new scheme Pace will really put together a great year

On offense I'm going with Mark Sanchez and David Clowney. On defense I say Vernon Gholston and I think that this year Kerry Rhodes comes back and steps the fuck up.

I think Calvin Pace will have a very good year. He had a nice year last year but his numbers would have been better if Mangini didnt stop blitzing. I think in Ryan's new defense Pace has a chance to thrive.

On Offense I am going to go with Stuckey. I really like what I saw from him last year. I dont think he is going to be a great WR but I could see him being a nice number 3 WR for us. I think Washington will take his game to a whole new level as well.

I hope you're right about D'Brick. That would be a nice surprise.

On D, I'm gonna go with more of a comeback player whose already proven himself to be on the verge of stardom, David Harris.

With Bart Scott being the general back there, I see Harris coming back healthy like he was 2 years ago and simply being able to make plays and react. Not having to make the D calls or overanalyze and just go for the ballcarrier plays to his strength. He should have a big year.

Very good point, I was thinking about that too. He had a hell of a game Week 17 against the Dolphins last year and I think Rex knows what he needs to do to unleash him.

as much impact as a second stringer could have... teams still need playmakers when their starters are catching a breather. or god forbid someone gets injured....

Dustin Keller is my pick offensively. I mean the guy was a rookie last year, at times he was dynamic and showed flashes of pure brilliance, and at times he completely disapeared, or dropped easy passes (see San Fran last year). Keller may be well known to Jets fans, but the rest of the NFL really doesnt know much about him, after this year they will.

Defense is so much harder to call. Everybody is poised to have one of the best years of their careers. Calvin Pace is going to come in and have the elite type of performance we expected for 16 games last year. I think David Harris will be back, and be a force, but he will not be the superstar we saw in his rookie year. Bryan Thomas, aptly named the Cactus, is average at best, and Gholston isnt even worthy of holding his jockstrap. Scott can't have a breakout year, he can have a let down year, but even with an MVP performance, it wouldnt be break out, same goes for Jenkins. Ellis is to old to have a breakout year, same goes for Douglas. Revis is already out on the scene. Sheppard would be more of a re-emergence. I think that Leonard is pretty much at his peak, he will be a good starter with flashes of brilliance, and that leaves me with one guy.

Kerry Rhodes, he is going to return to form where he was robbed of 2 straight pro-bowls. This guy is going to be showcased as a ball hawk and for the love of god every jets fan will come to know this guy as Ed Reed lite. Rhodes is due to make plays, and play big time ball. This is his put-up or shut-up year. If he doesnt bring his all, he will just fade into the background, but if he brings his A-game, he will become a perrenial all-pro and be remembered as one of the Jets all-time great safeties.

Chansi Stuckey is going to break out like a fat girl before prom. Count on it.

Defense is tricky. I'm going to say Kerry Rhodes; I think he'll have his best year as a pro in 2009.

Offense: I am feeling Chansi Stuckey. The guy seemed to have an excellent chemistry. I would have said Keller ,but WR is more of an impact position.
Defense: I think Gholston will have a breakout season...You can only go up after recording 1 tackle in your rookie season.

I think Pace will have a similar year to last but will only look better because the team won't suck down the stretch and he won't be in coverage all game - so his numbers will look like last year but better, creating a breakout year.... i guess.

On offense, its tough to see because of who is at QB. I'll pick Brick for the hell of it. He was a pro bowl alternate last year, and maybe he'll make it this year.
