Again you can always find a player do criticize a team philosphy. How about the boar hunter . The Jets under leon hess there philosphy was we want the good guys and they would pass on guys with questionable backgreound. Okay you had choir boys, but a lousy football team. Here is what you missing. Raiders philosphy when it comes to the draft hasn't changed. They been a highly sucessful franchise for years living by their beliefs. They aren't afraid to push the envelope. Only due to Raiders tough stretch(losing alot of games) have people question their philosphy. Raiders start winning and you will see everyone pattern there way after the raiders.(copy cat league) Raiders have really done well recently going by the philosphy they hold so dear, The Trevor scotts, Chaz Schilens, Greyson gunheim,Marcel reece. etc Who were very late draft choices or UdFa who are going to be absolute steals. Now getting back to the subject, whoi\se to say Raiders didn't base their decuison on other factors beside speed in DHB case. First Off Gil Brandt said Dhb pro day was very impressive. He caught everything and made it look easy.. Lets see Maryland had a very bad QB situation. They were predominately a running team, they didn't have alot of weapons on offense beside DHB. You take all those things into consideration and you put Crabtree or any other wr in this maryland offense, and you really think there numbers would be any better. Last point look in Raiders past. Raiders have always used a guy to stretch the field(From cliff branch, James Jett and now DHB) Those players play a large role in the effectiveness of the Raiders offense.

From Gil Brandt to alot of diffrent people who seen DHb play they claim his hands aren't as bad as you make them out to be. My understanding from everything i read says DHB has made alot of acrobatic catches in his career at maryland, and has dropped some easy passes. That says more concentration problem, than with his hands. BTw that was impressive number of players drafted from Maryland. Beside DHB They had one third rounder and three seventh rounders. Yea now i know why you question DHb production, when your talking about playing with that kind of talent. Two of those seventrh rounders played on offense. Again, if the jets are so pitiful and irrelevant why are you here?
