That's probably because a lot of us stopped going when Raider fans started trashing our cars at the games up there. I went to 5 Jet games (and one Chiefs) during our stretch in the early decade. Of course, I was living in the Bay Area at the time. What a worthless waste of space that stadium is.

I can't decide what was the lowest moment for me at NAC. Either getting my car fucked with when we actually beat the Raiders or watching a 60+ year old walk back with blood and piss all over him after he got jumped at the urinal for wearing a Tony Gonzalez jersey...who happened to be his stepson.

The best thing Sanchez does for this team is provide a face to the franchise. The Jets haven't had a face of the franchise for a long time, and that face can sell jerseys.

Favre was a perverted version of that, as he sold jerseys, but Sanchez can be here for the long haul.

When you think of New England, you think of the #12 Brady. Giants have Eli. Ravens have Ray Lewis. Chargers have LT. Cowboys have a number of guys. Jets have NOBODY.

If we win with Sanchez, I still rather be the SOJ who are always under the radar. I'm used to that already, I don't know if I could get used to rooting for a Jets team that is a [new] favorite of NFL fans everywhere. (Sounds incredibly stupid, but I think some may get where I am going...)

Well said. We all have our favorites, but that's because we are Jets fans. The rest of the NFL fanbase may not have known much about our team last season if it wasn't for Favre (or the 8-3 start, actually). But Favre is gone. We have a new head coach with personality (so he will be heard around the league), new defensive players, and a brand new (franchise) QB in Mark Sanchez.

    Ya think?

If Sanchez is successful and the Jets win big he'll bring in young fans of all persuasions though.

Hispanics will buy 10K PSL's once they see this kid play and all Woodies problems will go away. Shit, they love baseball but its only white people at the games. This is about exciting the fan base to help sell PSL's, its not a football decision.
