I disagree with what you say... If Clemons beats out Sanchez for the job then I would rather have him starting... I would hope that the amount of money a player is paid or the amount of hype a player gets does not have an effect on the coaches trying to field a winning team...
You alluded to KC being awarded the starting job simply because he deserves a go ... Whats the point of starting KC if Sanchez is going to take over at some point like you say ? If the kid and the CS feel hes ready , then he should start asap. Any doubts , then yes > clipboard
If Clemens has any confidence at all right now, then he is an idiot. His team just drafted a QB #5 overall and last year traded a pick for an old INT machine to start over Clemens. Nobody has confidence in him except for me. haha.
I dont see how Sanchez doesnt beat out Clemens for the starting job. Clearly Clemens hasnt shown this or the previous coaching staff enough for them to be comfortable with him. For crying out loud, we abandoned him for Favre last year, and this year never even bothered with him by drafting Sanchez. From the looks of it, Sanchez wants the job, and has the motivation to take it from Clemens. Look at his leadership thus far. Im willing to bet anyone that Sanchez will be behind center in Houston.
No shit, right??! If Clemens didn't have some kind of an edge or lead right now, he doesn't deserve to be on this roster. Good bits on Sanchez though. We'll have to see how the preseason plays out. I'm not against Sanchez sitting a season if it helps his development in the long run. If he's ready, he's ready, but I don't want them to rush him just because.
I get the feeling that Clemens will start the first few games and unless we are in first with the offense clicking Sanchez will be the starter after the bye week.
and that's what I thought was Kellen's weakest point in his brief stretch as a starter. Adios se?or :shit:
Not a KC fan but please for anyone to say this guy has had a fair shot is baloney... And I have bash him for pocket awareness and happy feet - something he has had since HS. However, in fairness he did have a "good" - according both HC and OC mini camp... and irrespective of what the NY - feast or famine - Media touts this guy has not seen anything yet.... So before me enshirne him in Canton, lets see how he fairs again the 1st team D... not a bunch of back-ups.
Why do you feel that? Ryan loves Sanchez. Thats his guy. He watched an inferior QB to Sanchez (Flacco) do well on a defense-oriented team with a good o-line and running game last year. You still have your Ratliff wallpaper? haha.
Thats the key. Ryan feels if Flacco can do it -- Sanchez can -- and thats why they went out and got a third rb. As i said elsewhere -- they want sanchez to be 10-17 for 140 (0 ints) and then run ("ground and pound") 40 times a game.
Well... at the end of the day Ryan can man-love Sanchez as much as he wants but if in preseason Clemens plays better than Sanchez he will be the starter day 1. If they play almost the same it's another situation and probably Sanchez will play (because Ryan does indeed love him) but not if Clemens shows he has better "numbers". I would be happy with that... Clemens has always been a professional and, if he earns it on the field, he has to be given a chance. Next year 99% Sanchez will be our starter from day 1 but this year let's just wait and see what TC and preseason games tell us.
The only way Clemens starts is to get his value up to trade him. But I find myself asking this question: Is Clemens the type of player to demand a trade if he doesn't get the starting job? If Sanchez wins the starting job this year, Clemens will never get to start for the Jets. Therefore this is a dead end job for him in terms of being a starting QB. Does Clemens accept his NFL career will only be as a back up or does he want to start and demands a trade?? TB and Seattle may be interested, no?
