He may be gone by then. I hope the Jets pull the trigger now. Mark Sanchez needs a decent target to throw to. What other options are out there?
If it's a 1 year deal ala Owens in Buffalo, there's not a lot of potential for disaster. If he makes a scene or shoots himself or somebody else again then we cut him and that's the end of that experiment I don't 100% support the move but I can understand the logic based on his on field performance. He did wonders for Eli's development
Jones is a coke head. He's not coming to NY. Edwards. MAYBE. Boldin is going to be in ARZ all year. He would have been traded already.
All Burris would have to do is catch passes, keep his mouth shut, stay out of trouble and cash his paycheck. Now I realize that might be a tall order for most of the idiots that are employed by the NFL in the rank and file. The Jets FO should sign him to a one year deal renewable annually should both sides agree. Burris made Manning better as a QB and he'll do the same for Sanchez should the kid start. He'll even help Clemens perhaps shake the Oregon QB curse too. Since we didn't have the pieces to address via trade the talent void at WR in the draft, we have no other choice but to go the FA route or trade. I can see Jones being traded straight up for a starting WR next season but unless Jones takes the Asshole Highway this year, he's gonna play under his current contract one more time. Either way, this helps in the Sanchez transition period. Either Clemens shows Sanchez the finers points of game management (perhaps a dual assignment as Clemens needs to learn this himself), or Sanchez learns under fire.
I think a one year deal would be proper for him. That gives him little wiggle room to act the fool, since a new contract would only be one year away.
If there was any chance the guy was not going to jail he'd still be a Giant. This is pointless to ponder.
Hey, If I remember correctly this is exactly what some around here said when Moss was available.....Hmmm. Because w/ Edwards we'd have to trade... LMAO
Not true. Following the incident, the Giants attempted to continue a relationship with Plaxico. The communication with the two broke down, mostly IMO due to Plaxico's immaturity and ego. But if I were the Jets, I'd take a chance on him with a one year deal. And then hopefully he wises up and becomes a mature adult and just plays the game.
You guys are heartless. Plax is one of my favorite players in the league and is a very good person with a rough past. Give him a break. If we signed him, our passing attack, running attack, and receiving attack will all have greatly improved this off-season with the Rex Ryan D we are going to have as well.
Make his contract incentive laden and put in a morality clause and then i'd give it a shot. Can't argue with his talent on the field but off the field this guy's a disaster.
How about we just give up all of our running backs and have rookie Sanchez put the ball up on EVERY down. Don't be silly. The Jets need to keep TJ at least for one more season.
I wouldnt want to get rid of TJ this year but next i wouldnt mind as long as SG pans out. To me SG looks like a poor mans MoJo. But TJ for BE would be a good trade
yes, and yes. i couldn't care less if we signed satan, if he could help us beat the pat's and fins, i'm all for signing anybody to finally get me to see this team in a sb. like hess said, i'm an old man and want to win now!
