Jones had some great stats last year but is 31 years old. Now that he is expendable, can we get anything of value for him?
He's 31, but he hasn't been carrying the workload his whole career. Earlier on he was splitting carries, so he's not as beat up as a typical 31 year old RB. I think he still has a few good seasons left. Don't trade him.
why would you trade the leading rusher? True he's getting old, but shnon green can help ease the load. we can still get some big yards out of jones. (unless he was involved in trade for boldin- i would not be happy if we traded him
For some reason, I think that there is more to the trade we made with the Browns for Sanchez. I think that something else has to be in place. I think it will be TJ and next years 2nd for Edwards. I can be completely wrong though, and probably am wrong.
Please Lord - I hope you're right. A 2 and TJ for Braylon would be the best thing - I would be so happy.
Id take a fourth or a fifth, we could really use a player at defensive end. And I guarantee they're trying to trade him as we speak, with Washington and Greene, Jones is expendable. I dont think they would have drafted a halfback (especially in a trade-up) unless they were already thinking about life after Jones, and if theyve got the replacement here already, may as well move him. Especially since we have a scary lack of players at TE and DE, and only one draft pick left. I dont know, I dont think you can justify trading up for Greene unless you deal Jones to get picks back, we just have too many other gaping holes to fill at this point. Put it this way, if Thomas Jones and Leon Washington were going to be here this year, which would be more valuable, Shonn Greene on the bench and playing specials, or Jarron Gilbert probably starting 16 games?
We would get hit in the cap again if we trade him...we did yesterday with Coleman, that left 4 million in dead money. Jones would do the same.
There?s nothing wrong with having 3 good RBs, especially if we have a Rookie-QB under center. just keep him.
Because he was a total product of the OL he sucked when the line sucked and was good when the line was good but never brought the power running game that Ryan wants to the team.
Leading rusher, those are the magic words. His trade value will never be higher in the future than it is now.
Now that we've traded away our top 2 picks, I don't want to see TJ going anywhere. I had mentioned packaging him to try to grab Boldin, but I wouldn't want to touch next year's picks. People have mentioned Edwards, and Cleveland may become more desperate as time goes on and they realize that they took back to back receivers in the 2nd round. However, I doubt they want TJ. He'd be far too expensive to keep in 2010, and he's not going to see significant playing time in the same backfield as Lewis.
thas the biggest questions ever why deal with someone who had one good year and thinks he is the best thing to hit the town....
We still are in desperate need of a WR so they must still have something else planned. If not today then after the draft.
