You are just mad because your Adopt-A-Jet sig is ruined now.

Seriously though, hard to take you serious with ABS in your sig. Not giving the guy a chance. Your mind is made up.

I was born in 1981. Namath ment and still means more to us than pretty much anyone in franchise history. I'd almost give my left nut to meet the man who got us our ONLY SB title. I'm not taking anything away from Sanchez, I think he will be great, lead us a long way, but, he won't be Joe.

No, it took him about 15 minutes to come up with this stupid list, don't you realize that MOST QBs have at least three of those issues and some of them don't even matter to begin with..

Why the hell are you against Sanchez? Would you have been happier with Freeman....a 6'6 pillar for DE's to kill??

Ok, I will agree that this trade could turn out badly for us, but why does everyone have a defeatist attitude? Coming out of High School he had offers from everywhere. He chose Souther Cal to be able to compete with the best players in the country. He had to sit and learn behind a couple of great QBs, and when they called him in he flat out dominated.

Sanchez is a really bright guy with the athletic ability to back it up. Just listening to him being interviewed he just exudes confidence and that will do nothing but filter down to every one else on our roster. He was the best QB in this draft, and we got him for fringe starters and 2 picks. Just like their is no guarantee that Sanchez will be great what makes you think that picks 17 and 52 will be stars? We knew what we had with Coleman, Elam, and Ratliff but out front office saw them as back up quality players. Your remember we went out and signed Douglas and Leonard, and now with the drafting of Sanchez they didnt think highly of Ratliff either. I understand that Elam and Coleman are "proven" NFL players, but all they have proven is that they cannot hack it in this league.

Tannenbaum took a chance today by taking Sanchez. I'm personally glad he had the balls to make a move. Our coaches love Sanchez, and by all acounts put him through a battery of tests before they took him. Everyone needs to get behind this guy because he is now the face of the franchise.

BINGO....right there, that post should be on the Jets homepage. I could not have said it better myself, excellent thought and evaluation of the situation.

MB,that girl in your avatar looks pretty good. And wow, Sanchez has a lot of flaws from that list! Clearly a bust! And by bust, I mean the nanners in your avatar.

I would say those three are legitimate.

Every quarterback sometimes gets flustered by a strong pass rush. The fact that he was surrounded by talent should not be held against him.

The rest I feel he can overcome easily. I can't recall what the off-field issue even was. Sanchez is 6'2" as Favre was 6'2" and Young was 6'2". From what I saw, he is quite mobile and more fleet of foot than, say, Ben Roethlisberger.

I guess we're about to find out the quality of his reads and his deep ball. The former may or may not be correctable through coaching.

Im not sure what I can to what MBgreen has said but ill try to sum it up

    1) We picked what believe to be a franchise QB. In some respects its a crap shoot but our scouts/coaches believe he is the guy. Nothing I have seen makes me disagree. I thing he is now the face of the franchise

    2) He could bust, as some QB's do, and some of you are calling it now. If he busts, that doesnt make you "right" it makes you lucky. You are not scouts and simply saying "16 games" or "USC" is not a valid reason to label someone a bust. I trust our scouts and scouts around the league more than people from the internet who dont do this for a living. But more importantly, their opinions are valid, ours are really not. Its sounds harsh but its true. We can say star/bust all we want but its either wishful thinking or an SOJ/Negative mentality or w/e. Theoretically, If all the talking heads told us that the best QB in the draft was Rhett Bomar, we would be having the same discussion. Half would be saying he is a franchise QB, half would say bust.

    3) From a value standpoint, we gave up very little to move from 17 to 12. A late 2 plus 2 role players and a backup QB. Really?

    4) It doesnt matter what we gave up. If Sanchez is a Franchise QB then we got a steal. If not, it probably will cost Tennanbaum his job.

I agree, I am noticing a few guys coming out of the wood work today who seem to be full of shit. I explained the WHOLE situation of getting Sanchez to my son....he is 6 mind you....and he was all for it.

"If he can be as effective as Favre was before he got hurt, I'm all for it daddy."

He knows we gave up average talent saying "They suck anyways" and a 2nd rounder that "Isn't worth our time"

My son is only 6 years old...and gets it.

Do you really need a link? Who cares? I can like to you to 10 "experts" who think he is a franchise QB. Unless you used to run drafts (Casserly, Lombardi) your opinion is really not that valuable.

I'm sorry, which of these concerns is your big complaint? Several of these are flat out wrong, and the 2nd to last is evidence that the original author doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

If we are being honest, your 6 year old son can project QB's as well as any fans can

If durability is a concern for Sanchez, then it's sure as hell a concern for Clemens. Clemens actually missed time due to injury in college.

I'm not saying he called it from the start, I told him what happened, explained every player and pick involved and he agreed that it was the right move. He knows we need a QB and was very happy that we got one in the draft, I don't think he understands how "good" he is, but, he was game for it all the way.

    well said.....

my point was.....we didn't give up a tonne to move up to get him....i thought trade was more than reasonable, if Sanchez turns out to be our franchise QB.
