It's not about listening to your base coaches. It's a sign, just like a hit and run or something. And if I was managing and you didn't listen to signs your ass would be benched and fined.

Well, you werent a coach, or my coach, so you obviously have no idea how fast or good I was. My coaches let me do my own thing, they were there as guidance in case I wasnt sure on what to do. Call it what you want....

The point at hand is that Roberts fucked up. No way his coach told him to go there.

First, it has nothing to do with speed or ability. Ignoring the base coach telling you to stop is one thing, but ignoring a sign from the manager before the play is totally different. Not going in that situation is identical to deciding not to swing on a hit and run or deciding to swing away when given the bunt sign. For any team at or above high school level, that kind of thing is unacceptable.

Second, if you really think there is no way that the contact play was on I really have to question what you know about baseball. All your Little League baserunning aside, the contact play with a runner on third is a very common and fundamental play, and given the situation (early in the game, facing a top pitcher, etc) it's HIGHLY likely that it was on. It maybe isn't Baseball 101, but it's certainly no higher than 102.

I said it before the trade went down and I'll say it again...C.C Sabathia isn't worth all of that money and in my eyes...Isn't even the best pitcher in the AL East...That goes to Beckett and now that Kazmir has his slider back, I would also rank him above Sabathia. Shhhiiittt, I would take Dice-K and Shields over Sabathia. He's overrated.

C.C...Welcome back to the American league! This aint the NL anymore and you may just get rocked all year long.

I say C.C has a losing record this year and the Yankees over paid for this "Superstar"

Not sure what kind of baseball you play on the East coast, but you never run on contact from 3rd with the infield in when the ball is hit sharply to the 3rd basemen.

keep your arrogance out of this thread, youre borderline trolling.

I don't think you know what the contact play IS. It's called before the pitch is even thrown, and the runner on third breaks on contact regardless of where it's hit, which is exactly what happened. You're simply wrong on this, and it isn't trolling to point that out.

Yeah, I'm just wondering...Did Yankee fans really believe that C.C was just going to come into the AL East and dominate like he did out in the NL?

I know it's only the 1st game of the season, but in Baseball every game counts and I would love for the Yanks to start off 0-1.

    Yankees are ALREADY missing A-Roid

Oh, that's exactly it, he's just not trying against the mighty mighty American League. Dude played almost his entire career in the AL and dominated it pretty well.
