You should. It's correct. Look, I'd love to have Cutler come in, but the price has to be right. I don't understand two approaches to this. One is "I don't want Cutler under any circumstances because he's a whiner". It's fine to feel that solid value for him would involve an untouchable piece of our defense. I'd tend to agree, which is why I've said that this deal is unlikely to happen unless it happens quickly and involves the trade we already left on the table. That trade involved, I believe, 2 1's and a 4 in a 3 team trade with Cleveland. The other approach is that we should give up whatever we have to in order to get Cutler. I disagree with this wholeheartedly. We've finally got the pieces together on D, and of the players Cleveland/Denver may want (Jenkins, Harris, Revis, Rhodes), none are appealing options. Jenkins and Harris have zero depth behind them. Revis is a rising star who is instrumental to our success in the passing game. Rhodes, the most available of the four, still has little depth behind him. There is no certainty that we could replace any of them in the draft (without a 1st) or in free agency.
I really hope you're joking. I'll take either of our two potential starters over Quinn any day. Why the hell would you want to trade for him?
So were Vince Young and Matt Leinart. With many people suggesting the Jets draft a QB with their first-round pick this year, how much more would you be willing to give up for a young quarterback who has already proved himself in the NFL? Another first? A second and/or third? Nothing at all?
Here's the worst part of it all. They told him they wouldn't get rid of the OC and shit like that and then went ahead and did it. No biggie, right? That's what Cutler thought, so he started working with McDaniels trying to learn the new offense, and being a team player. All the while he's doing that, McDaniels is trying to get Cassel. I'd be pissed off too. Way pissed off. So all this cry baby shit, is just that....shit.
That was for Don's comments about draft picks being a waste of time. Anything is possible, Cutler could come here and suddenly suck. You never know. Love watching you guys argue over it though.
Yeah, that part I side with you on. The guy has every right to be irate off the charts. This was just played at the bone-head level by McDaniels, and if I were a Denver fan I would already be very upset with McDaniels.
Wow....the Broncos are basically auctioning off their franchise cornerstone, folks. Do you really think they'll just take draft picks in return?? Draft picks, as we all know, are wildcards...nobody knows if these players will pan out or not. I'm convinced it will take picks in ADDITION to a bonafide starter on defense (both Cleveland and Denver are somewhat rebuilding their defenses)....so for the Jets to even be involved in the Cutler conversations with Denver...they will have to dangle a guy like Revis, Rhodes, Harris, Jenkins....take your pick. I don't like it....but that's the nature of the beast. These proposed deals that are being thrown around on the board (eg 2 first rounders and third rounder) won't be considered....Denver will want a proven player included.....unless their GM is certifiably retarded. Maybe i'm wrong....but I can't see Denver giving up their future for a bunch of picks that may or may not turn out to be good players....
I think what people are missing with the 'crybaby' talk is it is not just this one instance of being angry about the trade talk. I thought I read somewhere that he is well known in the league for his attitude. But I don't play in the NFL so I don't know how true that is.
It's amazing how this guy hasn't coached a game yet, and he's already blown the team to pieces. Unreal. They should have fired him instead.
Doubt that Cutler will suddenly suck. I predict if he goes to a team with talent he leads the league in yardage. He's fired up. McDumbass is just going to be FIRED.
Another great one that I keep hearing out there is, "Cutler throws teammates under the bus". If I recall correctly, Cutler wanted Brandon Marshall to stop doing stupid shit that would hinder their familiarity on the field. That off-season, Cutler looked forward to working with Marshall. Instead the idiot cuts his hands, lies about it, has to get surgery on it, and can't practice for a few weeks during training camp. Then, to make matters worst, they found out that Marshall lied about what really happened when he cut his hand and got suspended the first two games (not sure) of the season. What a way to throw a teammate under the bus. By telling him to cut the shit, fly right and get his ass on the field. What a scumbag that Cutler guy is.
Are you kidding? A probowl player that's the centerpiece of your team. Yes, I'd say that's blown to pieces, which isn't even including the impact it will have on the attitudes of other players on the team.
Another thing I find funny is how we all have great recollections of events that we were not even there for. How do we really know what happened. Like I said, I don't play in the NFL. I guess we just take what we hear in the papers and make it fact.
I get rid of Rhoades before i get rid of Revis. I mean, i don't want to lose any of these guy's but Revis HAS to be labled UNTOUCHABLE!
Haha yeah it's just amazing. McDaniels better be the second coming of Lombardi otherwise he's going to take heat like no other coach ever has!
