Very good points. I chuckle when I see people suggesting to give up Revis, Harris, or TJ. It's not happening. As far as Cutler goes, who's to say Woody isn't involved just like last year with Favre. I'm not saying he is, but with PSL's and all..... If they do go after him, it better be for just picks and any of the QB's.
Cimini just mentioned on his blog the prospect of trading Harris, only a passing one, when speculating what we would need to give up for Cutler.
The pats had LBs galore and didn't start winning until they had a franchise QB. Your assumption has no base in logic.
Didn't Bowens already sign with the Browns? You don't trade Harris - you give them the pick. Who would you replace Harris with anyway? I also wouldn't give up the 2nd this year. Give them a conditional 2nd next year.
jEts need a franchIse qb, jets getting cutler improves that by lEaps and b0unds...ratcliff or short stumpy clemens arent anything special
You don't take over entire threads, so you're not as bad as Jose de Veras, but you're a useless troll just the same.
Any non Jets fan looks at our QB situation and laughs. I think this message board in general has very unrealistic expectations for our QB's. I like Clemens most out of the 3. He has a decent arm, but was awful in 07 (albeit mostly not his fault), and couldn't take hold of the job last season. I don't like Ratliff that much. It's not that I think it's bad, it's just that I can't have any faith in him at this point. He had a few good pre-season games and impressed the CS, but who knows what this kid will do against first-stringers. I don't like Ainge at all. Cutler, on the other hand, is 25, has started for 3 seasons, and has been very good in all 3. The only other QB's I'd take over him if I were starting a Franchise would be Roethlisberger and Rivers. Cutler is worth morgaging our 2009 draft.
The Rocky Mountain Heist May 2, 1983 to Denver John Elway (drafted 1st overall by Baltimore in '83 draft) to Baltimore Chris Hinton (drafted 4th overall by Denver in '83 draft) Denver's 1984 1st round draft choice quarterback Mark Herrmann $1 million **** I think a similar deal would have to happen for a team to get Cutler. The Broncos will need to receive two high draft choices, likely two 1st rounders. If not, then one 1st rounder and one 2nd rounder. They will also need to receive a veteran quarterback.
Get it done! 1st round 2009, 3rd round 2009, 2nd round 2010, Kellen Clemens Hard offer to turn down and well worth it.
I actually agree with what you're saying about Ratliff and Clemens, but I think Ainge has some potential. I know Clemens is a gamble, but honestly, I think Cutler is too.. not even taking into account his maturity and the what we will have to give up for him. If we could get Cutler for a reasonable price, I'd be all for it.. but that won't happen, so I'm not. Personally, I'd rather start a franchise with Cutler than Ben or Rivers.
Yeah, I'm sure he's made such a proclamation. You write that as if the Jets are a top franchise, like the Jets are too good for other teams' rejects.
Harris is one player I'd be surprised to see in a trade. We have zero depth at ILB right now, although it is a good draft for the position.
I don't think Harris will be part of the deal. I can see a 1st rounder, a 3rd rounder and a conditional 2010 that can turn into a 2nd. If they want one of our QBs as well, have your pick.
