I have faith in Ratliff, who in less time on this team has given more hope to us fans. An if not Ratliff, then Eric.
I Like Ratty too, but strangely enough, as of Saturday Night, all Three (3) NFL Network Mock drafts have us taking Josh Freeman, KSU with our first round pick. Hmmmm..........hmy:
What "hope" has he given "us" fans? Honestly.. At what point did "us" fans decide that a couple long bombs, against 3rd stringers, in a preseason game, gave "us" more hope? Please.. Don't talk for "us" because that statement is not even close to being true. KC may not pan out, but I think he deserves a shot above anyone else in this league at this point. I think he has some real promise, and I hope he proves people like yourself wrong.
You do remember why San Diego drafted Eli then traded for Rivers right? Not saying it will happen, but you can't say it won't. How do you know until you let the kid play.
Eric Aigne must be a Heisman winning QB coming out of college that year. If he's there when we pick...take him!
Knowing the Jets luck at QB I can see this scenario happening. KC has a decent but not great year. But has an outstanding last couple of games against weak teams. Being that it is the end of his rookie contract, the Jets will be faced with a the typical question. Did Clemens show enough to warrant a long term deal or do they scrap him and move on. And all of us lucky readers on TGG will be blessed with reading hundreds of threads debating whether or not KC is the man and deserves a long term contract or his few good games were a mirage. Yippeeee!!! I can't wait!!!!
+ 1 on that post right there, +1. I'm just against giving up a #1 and maybe even two #1's for a QB in Cutler who has yet to prove anything special @ the NFL level other than having a strong arm while missing the playoffs two years in a row when we already have a QB in Kellen who could be just as good with a solid O-Line, two solid RB's along with a solid Rex Ryan Defense. After the 2007 season, I would say it's safe to say that Kellen has atleast earned a 2nd chance behind a solid Offense. If Kellen cant get it done behind our O-Line and running game then I guess it's time to look elsewhere but as of right now, I think it's safe to say that Kellen has earned his shot as the Jets starting QB heading into the 09 season. It's going to be an open comp from what I understand but after years of working behind Pennington and Favre last year, I think it's safe to say that Kellen will walk away as the starting QB because I doubt Ratliff will have another preseason with a QB raiting of 100+ and even if he does...Just remember...It's only preseason.
