Kellen is in his last year of his rookie contract and the FO has not even whispered a new contract. He will be gone in 2010 at the latest. Three years and he is no better than when we drafted him.

Brett is going to be given the chance he deserves, but after an average college career and no experience against top defenses in college let alone the NFL can he make it ala Cassel?

Eric had a good college career against good competition. His stats were much better than Keleln and Brett. Can he lean and pickup the game at an NFL level? He has a good arm, pocket presence and fairly inteligent. I say by time he has been on the team as long as Kellen he will be the #1.

My dark horse is Brett since we paid nothing to get him, we have nothing to prove by making him the guy. If Kellen doesn't make it, he is another bust for our team. Eric was a great 5th round pick and many think he should have been higher, some doubts feel he was lucky to be drafted.

I don't see us drafting a QB or having enough goods to trade for one, unless Mangini wants Kellen in a trade for Quinn.

If we do draft a guy he won't be ready to start any time before Brett or Eric, so why waste the pick or money?

okay one.. this thread makes absolutely no sense.. sorry.. i usually dont waste time telling people how bad they're threads are.. but then again.. threads aren't usually this bad..

the point about us not paying alot for Ratliff having any corrilation to how well he'll play or whether we should start him.. his retarded... and the statement about kellen for quinn wasn't funny.. not sure where your going with that..

we have a hard enough time trying to figure out who our QB will be for this upcoming season.. why would you be thinking two seasons ahead.. when during you writing this did you go.. "Yeah, this isn't a complete waste of time.."

out of pity to this thread, and utter boredom with the rest of this bored right now, i decided to vote with a drafted qb.

I wouldn't be surprised if this year we have one of the three starting, but i don't think any of them will be franchise qb material so i doubt any of the three will be our starter THREE years from now (why the fuck are we talking about 3 seasons from now?) So i say a drafted qb. (btw, for the 2011 season, there will be a 2011 draft, why isnt that an option?)

So I was bored and with all this QB talk I was looking toward the future since the upcoming season will be bumpy and probably offensively as boring as the off season.

    Run, run, run, punt.

How do you know the front office has no plans to re-sign the man? Who's your source? When was the last time you were in a meeting with Rex Ryan and company?

And if Kellen puts up a nice 10-6, 11-5 record this year as the Jets starting QB behind a solid O-Line with a tough running game to go along with a much improved Defense, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Jets will be resigning Kellen long term after a solid run to the playoffs.

Kellen hasnt learned anything after three years? He hasnt improved? Wow, I guess Pennington, Favre and the coaching staff was just a waste of space if Kellen is still "No better than when we drafted him"

    at this thread.

Our Defense is going to be sick-nasty with the additions of Rex Ryan, Bart Scott and Litto Sheppard. We almost made the playoffs last year with a defense that wasnt as good talent wise and a QB in Fave who was on the down side of his career.

Give Kellen a solid O-Line with Faneca and Woody (Something he didnt have with Montgomery and Clement) along with a strong run game and watch what happens. Lets not forget that Mangold and Ferguson were both 2 year players in 07, both will be 4 year veterans next year and I really cant stress that enough.

The Jets are already MUCH improved on the defensive side of the ball with Sheppard, Scott, Leonard along with Ryan calling the shots and our offense has a chance to gain some fire-power through the draft.

    Lets hope your right!

With a solid O-Line and running game...It can happen. Jet fans can say what they like about Kellen's 07 season but you know what? The man had no O-Line, no running game, no defense and still showed a lot of promise, talent and potential. Sure Kellen made alot of mistakes behind that O-Line but Im pretty sure Manning and Brady would have struggles with that team in 07.

Im confident in this kid behind a good team... A Drew Brees outta nowhere would be exciting.

Being a sports fan is all about believing...If you cant believe, whats the point?

You may not think Kellen has what it takes, but atleast have faith in the man

I agree, no way in hell KC is even close to Brees's numbers.
