Is that even a question? Just because I would love to have Longoria on my fantasy sports team and root for him with each and every game doesnt mean I dont understand fantasy sports...Its called having fun with your life and actually rooting for a favorite player with some money on the line...its not like im going to be in a 5,000 dollar league where NOT WINNING is going to make me cry and get depressed...lol, its just a game and the most i'll put on a fantasy league is 100 MAYBE 150.

Like Buttle said, I'd love to be in the same league with you handicapping yourself like that.

    10th round is pretty nuts.
Most of the drafts I have been in or have followed have him going anywhere from the 2nd to the 4th round.
He is usually chosen before Atkins, Beltre and Aramis Ramirez but after Wright, Miguel Cabrera (1b/3b) and a in a few leagues Arod.

Yeah, that sounds about right, lol @ every league Longo is 10th or later...Looks like someone is lying just to try and prove a point which is funny in itself.

You're right, I did exaggerate a little bit. But not by much in the leagues I'm in that have drafted.

Here is a round up of Longorias' draft status in the 6 non-keeper leagues I'm in:

46 Evan Longoria, TB Team Sofferin $26 (round 5)
78 Evan Longoria, TB OKC Redhawks $22 (round 8)
41 Evan Longoria, TB No Tide $23 (round 5)
112 Evan Longoria, TB IATA $20 (round 11)
94 Evan Longoria, TB Team kkj $19 (round 10)
100 Evan Longoria, TB IATA $22 (round 10)

I do auction leagues, much more fun IMO.

You cant use auction leagues as placement since many owners can bring up any player for bid.
It is part of the strategy of auctions to bring up players that arent wanted so that others will spend their money on them and possibly weekening that team therefore Longoria may be brought up to bid much later due to owners trying to get him for as little as possible.
Hell, I brought up Ichiro in the first round of an auction. Is he still a 1st round fantasy player?

In case anyone cares, I had my draft last night - this is a 10 team league. Went Hanley at #1. Then, on the turn, I got Lance Berkman (how did he fall?) and Nick Markakis. On the next turn, I got Matt Holliday (again, how??) and Brian McCann (which was my only bad pick cuz I coulda had Matt Kemp here but I was obsessed with getting McCann for some reason that I now can't recall). As for the rest, not worth recounting but I'm generally happy with my team and definitely feel like I stole Berkman and Holliday.

You are probably obsessing over McCann because he is a rare decent catcher

    Hanley
    Berkman
    Holliday

Im a huge fan of those three guys right there and with them in the lineup, if you have some starting pitching, you can go far

However...Im not a huge fan of Markakis ir McCann

The McCann pick was a great one. You can easily fine Kemp-like numbers from other outfielders later in the draft, but McCann gives you outfield numbers from the catcher spot.

You first passed on Holliday for Markakis? And I see you haven't picked up any pitchers. Otherwise that is a solid group.

It was a tough choice between Holliday and Markakis with my 3rd pick and I was thrilled that Holliday fell to my 4th pick. For that reason, I definitely made the right choice, regardless of who has a better season.

I have pitchers. I was just giving you my top 5 picks. My leagues does 5 starters and two relievers. My roster is Harden, Greinke, Dempster, Baker and Slowey and then Soria and Capps as closers.

^In my draft I took Holliday at pick #23, second round in a twelve team league. I thought he was a steal there but in no way would have taken Markakis ahead of him. Just me though.

As always, I need some validation on a trade idea. Should I give up Hanley and Chipper for Pujoles and Aramis Ramirez? I have Tulowiski ready to step in at shortstop.

How many points do you get per SB and per HR?

I think I make that trade in a heart beat in my league. Chipper is too much of a risk. Aramis and Pujols might miss a few games, but Chipper could miss 30+ games again this season.

It's not points - they are equally weighted categories.

I think I still make the trade based on Chippers injury risk alone. He has only played in 130+ games once in the last 4 seasons. Aramis has dropped under 130 games only once since becoming a full time starter in 2001.

and FWIW, the point style in my league, Aramis/Pujols, last year and projected numbers this year, outweigh Hanley/Chipper by 200+ points.
