But, then we can start posting about next years draft and losing the last couple of games in the season to get a better draft pick. Then it is off to Mock Drafts and Madden Trades until Traning Camp.

Are you kidding, "couldn't make it in Denver"? In what way couldn't he make it? He made the pro bowl in his second starting year and he threw for over 4500 yards. Exactly how couldn't he make it or do you mean he should have played defense too?

I love how Denver screws up and now Cutler is portrayed as a cry baby with a huge ego. He led them to 8 wins last year (with a really bad defense) and I didn't hear one word about him being a "cry baby" until Denver screwed up and tried to trade him. He doesn't like to be played around with and that is exactly what McDaniels did. He told him that he didn't try to trade him and then turned around a week later and admitted that he actually did. Would you like for the person who controls your future to blatantly lie to you? By the way, if Cutler has such a HUGE ego please tell me how he survived on a team with Brandon Marshall as a WR who probably has one of the biggest egos in the league. Those two managed to get along fine.

horrible, horrible post. Obviously, you don't watch a lot of NFL football. Cutler is a premier QB in this league.

Neither Clemens nor Ratliff have really been given the opportunity to win the QB job. Clemens was grudgingly, and I have to use that term given how it played out, finally handed the job in the middle of a lost season after the incumbent (and coaching staff) had epic-ly failed to salvage anything from the wreckage of a poorly executed offseason. Neither of them really had a chance to take the job last season as became clearly apparent when Chad's failures in camp lead the Jets to import Favre.

Somewhere in here the Jets just have to roll with what they have and see what happens. That's the way that most teams not lucky enough to get a top QB out of the draft go. Not having Chad around means the Jets will be forced to evaluate and fully develop one of the guys they have. Maybe that's not going to be the answer long-term but not trying it is just cutting off options.

The picks that Cutler would cost the Jets would be crippling in other areas on the team. The Jets still don't have a defensive line that's good enough to compete at a high level. They have significant questions to answer at OLB also, and they have problems at WR for next year and potentially LG and RT a bit down the road. Paying 3 high picks for a QB is like saying "let's be Denver."

You can build years of sub par to mediocre play through over valuing talent that has yet to produce anything at the NFL level.

"If the Broncos decide to formally put Jay Cutler up for trade, they won't have trouble finding partners.

An NFL source said "more than 10" teams have called the Broncos this week inquiring about Cutler.

In most instances, those teams communicated nothing more than interest should Cutler become available. The Broncos have listened but have told all comers their plan is not to trade Cutler. He requested to be traded Sunday.

Cutler, 25, threw for a franchise-record 4,526 yards and was named to the Pro Bowl last season, but his relationship with new coach Josh McDaniels has been sideways since Cutler learned of a trade proposal that would have made former New England quarterback Matt Cassel the Broncos' quarterback."

So, more than 10 teams in the NFL want him but a good number of people on this board do not. What does that tell you?

Drafting a prospect in a position, only to snatch veterans from other teams to fill that spot, is not exactly how you build your team through draft.

On top of that, I don't want Cutler myself - frankly his moodiness and inconsistency, along with away-from-the-pack attitude in the locker room scares me to no end. That's not how a leader behaves. Cool under fire? You won't see that phrase and Cutler in the same sentence.

But you can by having undrafted FA's as your starting QB?

I am not an advocate for raiding other teams every year but in certain cases, it makes sense. Trading for a 25 year old, franchise type QB makes great sense.

In a perfect world, you draft consistently, hit a home run with a late rounder on occasion, and fill in glaring needs through FA.

The Jets are not a perfect world.

If Cutler is available via a reasonable trade, a glaring need will be filled.

That tells you the guys on this board who do not want Cutler do not want to have top 10 QB in the game on there team which makes no sense. Cutler is a top 10 QB in the game this is a FACT

And yet another Cutler/QB thread. Way to sneak it in there. A few more and we'll have 10 on the front page!

Should I start one, saying "Why I do NOT want Cutler..." or something? That would be an achievement of a kind, you know.

    I pick this Cutler thread.

Cutler would have thrown that on a rope and Clowney possibly would have dropped it. Cutler cut his gums in the NFL with the Broncos. He is game ready and proved what they were saying about him coming out of the draft. And as the pessimist I am I think we aren't going to get him.

Did anybody watch his first half of the season last year? I swear I was watching a superbowl team. Coupled with a promising defense he would flourish here. His attitude reminds me of Jim McMahon. He stick that ball anywhere at anytime. And he won a SB with a great defense. Cutler's a $hittalker more than he is a crybaby. IMHO.

Its amazing how that one preseason game has made some people think clowney and ratliff are going to pro bowlers. All it shows is potential until they do something in a real game lets slow it down people
