Nevermind the bashing here...No one is an expert on this board. We'll take about 20 guesses a week. You are pretty much boung to get a few right but probably 80% of them are wrong. I don't follow college football but I wanted us to draft either Leinert or Cutler and for some reason, I thought Leinert was a better QB. Thank God we didn't draft him but Cutler would have been great. As for Bush, he would not have been worth giving up that much but if already had the second or first overall, I wouldn't mind taking him. He hasn't been the feature back but he proved his worth in returns. He gave them probably an extra 5-10 yards a series by his returns alone on avg. Thats like getting first down with out playing a down.
its not about always being right. its about coming in here year after year and proclaiming that the jets are stupid because of x move they did or did not make. and then 3 year later looking back at it and laughing. when you are consistently wrong you shouldnt be so confident of your stance. i think its the bravado that you make these posts with that are making people go back and dig them up. nobody likes someone with too much bravado and when they are consistently wrong its just not a good thing.
isn't funny how NONE of these guys work in the NFL but are quick to point out misstakes we make about players. Abyzmul is nothing but a loser who thinks he great at picking talent but he on this board and not in the NFL for some reason.
oh wow I have been wrong 2 times..have u ever been wrong twice about thinking a player will be good and he wasn't? Young still has a chance to be a good or even great QB if he can get his head back in the game.
TWO??!!! My thought here is that highlighting the best of them in thread titles is part of the problem. Start burying your boldest pronouncements in ongoing threads and you'll make it more difficult to bump.
I bet someone else is going to bet that someone else in this thread didn't play football. ...I played football.
I bet lots of people played football and can't make personnel decisions that will actually help a team (Matt Millen). Oh yea, I played football and it doesn't matter at all. Emmit Smith played football and judging by his work as a commentator I'd think they just picked him up off of the streets in a country that hasn't even heard of the NFL.
Agreed. My post was sarcastic. It started when number 1 in his infinite wisdom bet that Abyz never played football.
We have Leon, and we'd be minus one shut down fuckin corner, Bush is good but he isn't the best, Revis is arguably the one of the best corners in the league, and possibly the best corner in the league in a few seasons.
then how are you wrong and roasted so often?... i figured you'd be more like the other posters that played such as a guy like Beamen who knows his shit... unfortunately, the consensus is that you are on the other side of the spectrum.
Can I make a note here... I kinda started this by bumping the Young thread... I don't post enough here to know "#1 Fan" from a hole in the wall - I recognize maybe 5 posters... Yeah, I've been here for years but, not regular enough to know all the schtik and who's who, other than Jabba, Winston and nyjunc. That said, yeah, "#1" stood out to me.... And from the fall out, I think I nailed it.; Every board has "That Guy" that runs around making crazy statements throwing shit against the wall. (hey, mr internet sports guy........) Some tips from a long time message board vet: 1) NEVER start thread with GREAT Declarations - we know the draft is somewhat of a crap shoot - Try starting threads asking questions and starting discussions - you can't know it all, you can't watch it all, you may just get input from a guy who goes to school with said player and knows as much as anyone - Combined info is King. Look at it from every angle and learn to trust opinions and recognize the posters that know more than you - Personally I'll read Thunderbird Jet and Jabba all day long.. And again, not being a complete regular maybe a lot of people don't agree with that. 2) Take tip #1 and triple it for Quarterbacks... STAY AWAY FROM ABSOLUTELY PREDICTING A QB - You can't do it!!!!!!!!! Look at last years draft, all the experts said it lacked QB talent and BAM we've got two Studs in the playoffs as rookies... In the draft above, where you declared Young CAN'T MISS - instead what I did was said, "I want to TRADE DOWN, and THEN, with less risk I'd trust the Jets scouts and be happy with whatver of these QB's they think would fit". I did lean Culter but, no way would I declare any college QB a can't miss other than Peyton...I would have bet on Eli given the pedigree... That said, I'm also amazed so many people have such strong opinions on Kellen Clemens already - After part of a season where Pennington looked like a HS QB. Honestly, I think anyone who says for sure he CANNOT do it, is throwing shit against the wall - and yeah, given the QB position, odds are he doesn't make it - But, no one knows - Schottenheimer knows more than anyone and he's not panicking, his career might even hinge on it.
if I know then what I know now I wouldn't had made the trade but this thread is a few years old. It easy for people to comeback after the fact and knock somebody.
"often"? I have been proven wrong in one thread and Young is still up in the air. Like I said how come he only wants to bring the few I was wrong. What about the one when I said Leon Washington was a steal and I got laughed at...I wonder why he doesn't want to bring that thread up? How come he won't bring the thread up where I said Mangini will suck as a HC?
I did, actually, and I enjoyed it a lot. None of this has anything to do with how bad your posts are, though.
