i would just like to say i hate you all.. i was perfectly fine with accepting that there is absolutely no chance we would get cutler.. but now i actually think that there is a chance.. a three way between cleveland, denver, and the Jets.. that would be great.. i personally love cutler.. and would go nuts if he is in green and white next season..
That's assinine. Yes, we'll surely get a lot of value for a guy shaping up to be the QB version of Terrell Owens. A 'franchise QB' doesn't get shipped between 3 different teams within 4 seasons unless there is a problem, that makes him something other than a 'franchise QB'. If we trade for Cutler, we will be paying the price of a Franchise QB. They had better be very sure he is.
Oh I never tried to argue that Quinn is the more established, or better player than Cutler, just that for the amount we have to spend Quinn is a much better value. Besides Quinn hasnt been given a real shot to show how good he can be. Quinn does have great upside, he was a first round pick for a reason. So paying a low-ball price for a guy with potential to be good to great, plus Quinn is a much smarter cerebral QB, than Cutler. What we need out of a Qb for this regime is a guy who will not be throwing up prayers, and being Brett Favre part deux. So yeah i think Quinn fits our needs better too. That said i would rather keep our picks and roll with what we have. If what we have isnt good enough the QB class next year will be stronger, and we would likely be in a spot to go get one of the top guys in the class anyways.
Nice avatar............ A buddy of mine who moved to Denver called me ealier this morning and said all the sports talk radio out there has Cutler as good as gone. Most are saying the JETS will be his new team....... At this point id take Cutler or Quinn.
I think people tend to forget that Cutler is only 25. Think how good he is now. Then think about the knocks on him, and then think that there's probably a good chance he'll improve.
One thing I noticed, people constantly question Cutler's maturity and leadership skills... Need I remind you of a certain Elisha Nelson Manning who won a superbowl for that other New York team? And before someone comes in talking about how the defense won it, well, what do you think the Jets are going for?
The thought I am currently having is the change in the New York Jets with Ryan. The toughness Ryan wants to bring. He will have that on D, but I don't know about the O. Cutler is that tough cocky guy the Jets don't have on offense. Despite me not liking that attitude, I think it will win games and in the end, thats all I want.
Getting Cutler would almost make up for the epic failure of bringing the INT king himself Brett Favre into the great green and white.
Until the jackals in the media smell blood after an awkward 0-3 start and the Pamprin factory can't work enough overtime to bring him out of his premenstrual funk
