Scouts Inc.: Jets need to address passing game March 12, 2009 9:00 AM - Posted by Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson > http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-57/Scouts-Inc---Jets-need-to-address-passing-game.html
It's true...We DO need to address the passing game. Who will be the Jets QB? As a fan, I would LOVE to draft Sanchez because I really believe in his overall talent and Kellen would be my choice over Ratliff only because Kellen was never given a fair chance in 07 As for the WR's...It's great to have a pass catching TE like Dustin Keller and Cotchery can be a solid #1 WR if you ask me, but after that...We are really screwed as of right now. I like Stuckey as a slot, I think that Clowey guy can be a deep threat but Im worried about our WR's heading into next year
Ummmm... Oakland? Minnesota... San Fran.... KC.... Chicago... Houston... Thats without thought....(and before you talk up Cassel, think Moss, Welker, Gaffney and system...)
Just like those teams, we may have alot of question marks about the QB position but other than the Vikings, I dont see any of those teams with an O-Line plus two good running backs like the Jets have...That alone will help out whoever our QB will be for the 09 season, we still need help @ the WR position though
I'd take Schaub and Thigpen right about now. Shaun Hill didn't look too bad either. Then again maybe it's just because I vividly remember them carving our D apart...
there is nothing wrong with houston's passing game, schaub is solid and they have amazing weapons in andre and owen daniels
Very, very true. Watch out for Houston either next season or the one after. They were among the hottest teams in the league at the end of this year. They are currently my dark horse in the AFC for 2009.
No, they have a QB - good or not they have a QB for the next 3 years. Just traded for Sage Rosenfels. They have a QB Shaun Hill looked pretty damn good to me.. When Singletary took over he was consistent. Thigpen > Clemens... But they are set with Cassel because he's not a "maybe", he won 11 games, system QB or not, he's 11-5. That's what every GM will tell you. Get over it. Orton has shown he can get it done. I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't take anyone to replace him immediately, but someone to groom for the job. You don't know who Matt Schaub is, and the texans just traded Rosenfels who was the back up the oft injured Schaub, so I guess they have full confidence in him.... why did you even list Houston? I'm not going to talk up Cassel so don't worry about it, champ. I love how you forgot Detroit, who is our neighbor in the Who is our QB Department. They are up there with the Jets. You forgot the one team that is in our realm.... way to go
lol, i was going to rebuttle his post but it would have been too much to type on my black berry when i was at work. knew you'd get around to it tho. detroit wasn't listed because they traded kitna and have full confidense in dante
haha yeah I didn't see the reply, it was an easy rebuttal too. Culpepper to me is almost finished, but he does have a Moss-like kid in Calvin Johnson. Maybe with an OL that does its job and a running game Dante returns somewhat to who he was. I enjoyed watching him play back in the 90s.
The Jets passing game will be the least of our problems this year. It has the potential to be the best it's been in years. We haven't had 3 WR and a TE with this much potential since 98. Brad Smith should have no problem playing pitch and catch all day long.
