Yo genius, Paul Nedell of the Star Ledger wrote this, not me .I am raging on the writer who blasted the Jets which every writer does when he can. I have no problem with what the Jets did. Did you actually read what I wrote or you just like to post? And what does being a Jet fan have to do with posting on this site anyway?

I can't understand how anyone would want Terrell Owens in their favorite team's locker room. But maybe that's just because I am in Texas and have been listening to the TO circus for 3 straight years. I love that he plays for the Bills.

In fairness, Woody and the other owners of the NFL are no different than the lenders and home owners. They pigged out and acted like their was no end to things going up in value. The entire process of the new stadium since day one when they were working on the WSS was to build a place that would cater to the rich and specifically to the investment community in the tri state area. The fans were never in the equation.

I stopped buying their over priced merchandise years ago and rarely go to a game because the value isn't there and hasn't been for years. Woody like every NFL owner could fire everyone, they also could have done a limited renovation to the new stadium and made a decision to cater to middle class fans. There is always two sides to every coin.

    glad someone said it...

T.O. with our unproven QB trio? That's why this writer is an idiot. he didn't mention that ONCE. who is going to throw T.O. the ball? If he bitches about mcnabb, romo and garcia imagine Kellen clemens lololol

Plus, having him here in the NY media? It's a pure recipe for disaster.

The NY sports writers want him here because he would give them a zillion articles and the media circus that makes them money. Purely selfish reasons. He would give them easier stories than Herman Edwards. They don't care what he does on the field as long as he creates havoc in the locker room and in front of the microphones.

Him and Favre together would have been fun. Of course with A-Rod around neither one would ever be on the back page.

I don't know when some of you are going to begin to understand that TO is nothing more than a headcase, prima donna, who is now at the tail end of his career. That alone should scream don't bother... but then, who the hell is going to throw him the ball? We have bigger issues than WR on this team and there is no justification for burning the type of money TO would want when we can better use the cash elsewhere.

Stop going to the games because the value is not there? What the hell does that mean? Is this a t-shirt or a game. Geez, getting carried away are you not? Its $75 per game, is that to much? If so, you should work a 2nd job and not watch any football. The only issue I have is the fan base is not as intense. Going forward with the new stadium, we shall see about value.

It's not 75 a game if your a season ticket holder. It's fine to buy tickets from a friend or on line once in awhile but 16 games a few tickets parking and the normal BS you spend it's in the thousands and it's a major commitment of not just money but time. That number I'm sure you know is going to go up geometrically again.

I used to go to Jets games for dollars including train fare door to door in 20 minutes. You could leave the house at 12 for a 1PM game and be home at 4:45. Now besides the money it's a full day commitment and a season commitment which is now being turned into a 20 year commitment and 10 of thousands of dollars. What are your new tickets going to cost and how much up front do you need to send in?

TO being on this team with a young QB and a rookie HC who wants to be a heavy running team isnt a good fit at all.

We are better off going after a guy in the draft or even bringing in a guy like Torry Holt if the price is right.

Yep. I feel the same. I used to have season tickets, but that was before I had kids. The idea of going to a game all day for 8 times a season, basically every other week in the fall, by myself to go with my brother and friends didn't add up, and adding tickets for the kids was either too difficult or made for that much more expensive a day.

Now I feel lucky to get three or four tickets once a year and take my kids, and watch the rest on tv. And yeah, it's far longer a day than when I still lived in the city. Even before I gave up my tickets I began to dislike the 4pm games.

I like making a day of it and cooking out, etc, but only if I have people lined up to go, which is the trick. My wife bails on the cold games and none of my friends are Jet fans. As it is now the money is livable, even if the pre-season is a rip-off, but with the new deal I'm probably out. One one hand I'll miss being a season-ticket holder, on the other I won't mind not being committed to every game and dragging people out in the rain to not eat the tickets.

That's the shame of it IS. You are part of the core of season ticket holders who are willing to make the commitment at a reasonable price. The Jets had planned on blowing you out before the economy turned down. It's not easy to take a full Sunday rain or shine, good game or bad and eat the ticket unless you really don't care and you can afford to piss away the money.

This is only becoming an issue cus he signed with Buffalo...if he signs with an NFC team nobody brings this up

Still, it was the right move for us to avoid TO

Interesting commentary and my sentiments exactly.

No one predicted the dire straits the consumer is in right now, Woody included. Season ticketholders like myself were never in the equation under Woody's ownership. The same cannot be said for Leon Hess, who, I feel, always had at least somewhat of a concern for the average Jets fan willing to take the time and expense to take his family to a game.

And I don't want to hear that "Woody at least offers the Uppers PSL-free." Screw that. It's a PR stunt, an accomodation... kicking out long-time fans in seats they've been in for two generations and forcing them out in the nose-bleed areas so fucking far away from the action you might as well not even go to the fucking game.

Woody deserves this head wind he's obviously fighting with his cockamamie PSL sales. Fuck him. He deserves to fall flat on his face. I've really become quite bitter about this entire situation... so much so that I want it to fail. I want them all to be a laughing stock.

A simple, well-planned renovation to the existing building would have been more than adequate. The old stadium had even been designed to be fitted for a roof. But oh no, knock it all down. Screw all of them.

Its $75 per game for the ticket. If you are not willing to spend the time or the $ for all the other stuff, that's you perogative, but value wise, its still great and nothing has changed in years, its take up a whole day and the traffic is what it is. Bottom line, you are getting old and don't have the energy or time to go which is ok, but that's not the Jets fault. And I said I am not speaking for the new place. And for the PR stunt, what the hell is this guy talking about. The long time fans are the ones going upstairs moving the Giant fans out of their seats. ITs a great thing for us though I fell badly for some of the peple moving. We all believe the old place is fine but at least I don't need to pay PSL's . Thanks Woody.

Signed 29 years season ticket holder!!!!

How is it $75? What about parking? What about factoring in the cockamamie "preseason games?"

    NON-PSL SEATS
    Upper Prime $125
    Upper Sideline $105
    Upper Endzone $95

Assuming you want to sit in the nosebleed section, where Leon Washington will appear as an ant on the nose of George Washington on Mt. Rushmore, you're still looking at a $500 day for 4 people, gas and tolls included.

I am referring to the present prices. $500 a game, that's funny. $75 per ticket, 20 for parking split amongst 2 guys, 30 for tailgate food, $12 for beer and $5 for gas. Not one, not one penny needs to be spent inside. I did the math. As of the 2009 season, for the 8 hrs. of partying, its still affordable and still one of my favorite things to do in life and something I have been doing for 28 years. Everything has gone up over the years so you can not use the price of things as the reason you don't go to every game. Most people who stop going are fed up with the teams lack of success and feel they are not worth the hassle anymore especially with the traffic issue. Me, its my 8 hrs. of bliss, no women, no kids, just my jet family.

    75- Ticket
    10- parking
    30- food
    12- beer
    5- gas
    2.50- water for game-
    ---------------------------

    $135
    9am-5pm
135/8= $17 per hr. for a day of fun.
