His knee has been healthy since December. If anyone is out, it's Fred Robbins.

Giants have been very active. Consequently I have been very happy...and drunk.

For whatever reason, the Jets were not that high on Canty.

I think Mcdougle was on a one year deal. The dline now is Osi, Tuck, Kiwi, Canty, Robbins, Cofield, Alford, Rocky Bernard, and Jeremy Clark. I know there was speculation the Giants would draft dline. Now it would not surprise me if they traded up for a WR.

That's an awful lot of money to pay for a 3-4 DE when you run a 4-3 scheme. I guess they could move him inside, but it just seems... extraneous. Thats a defensive line that was already solid, and highly payed, and now they invested even more money into it despite needs elsewhere. Boley and Bernard were good signings, Canty just doesn't seem like a good fit and is unnecessary.

I hear what you're saying. But the Giants have seen Canty 2X a year for a few seasons now and I trust they've done their homework on him. I think he'll be used like Justin Tuck and be on the outside and inside of the dline, depending on the down and distance.
