I'd definitely trade up for Nicks if that's what it took.

I really am against taking a running back first round if it is not a special player that can be a game-changer (Peterson, McFadden, Bush, etc), running backs can be found later in the draft

I hear ya. Although Bush isn't an every down back which has really hurt his value since he's been in the league. He most likely will never be an every down back. Still hasn't lived up to his pre-draft hype.

Whereas Wells is built for the long haul. He has the best size/speed combo of any back in this draft. Not to mention he's done it on the big stage at OSU. I think Wells has a big career ahead like McClain at Bmore. Rex may be thinking the same thing.

The thing is there is more value and talent available in round one that is not there later for other positions. Guys like McClain and Rice were mid round picks. While its harder to find the same impact at the same rate of success at other spots. Its nothing against the idea of Wells and his style (which i love) but more the value of the position in the round. Also the last back from OSU i believe is in jail now, his name is maurice clarett

At this point, our first rounder should be a DE or WR. I really don't see a solid argument for another position. RB might be a distant 3rd, but it's distant. I'd look for an OG for the future in the 2nd or 3rd, perhaps drafting a RB in the 3rd round, if not later.

I am not a college football fan so I don't know these guys. I trust you guys if you say the WR's are deep, but I would not want to use my first 3 picks on a WR. I would like to know, how many times you people saw these guys played or are you doing a Peter King and repeating what everyone else says

I think anyone who has watched a lot of college football has watched what Nicks can do. I also think anyone who has watched a lot of college football isn't high on DHB.

(psssst...Mr. E watches a lot of college football)

We have one proven wr....and Cotchery is only a #2 guy
Stuckey is a bum...he needs to prove his worth this offseason, b/c he tanked last season
I'd like to see clowney come in and be the #3 wr...and hopefully he earns it from the chance he will be given
Sign Joey Galloway (or the vet of your choice) for a reasonable deal to be the default #1
and then draft a rookie to work into the game throughout the season
Mason was a solid #1 in Baltimore...I don't think Cotchery could carry our passing game the same way without help

We need a proven #1 receiver. Not sure why we're not going after 'zadeh.

Echo that sentiment. DHB and MD are always on TV and he is vastly overrated IMO.

I would love to see Braylon Edwards or Ocho Cinco in Green and White.

Well, we ain't getting one. We just picked our one top free agent in Scott. We have all these young guys so its time to play them. We need to many other things before WR. Rip me all you want, the # 2 & 3 & 4 sports are up for grabs with what we got unless we get a bargain basement FA or a # 6 pick.

As of right now....since we have ...our starting ILB & CB signed....it's time to draft Offense ib Rd 1. Mark Sanchez or Hakeem Nicks for the Jets.

...we only have one WR with potential of starting next to Cotchery and that is the unknown Clowney
Drew Bennett, Joey Galloway, Darrell Jackson....give one a 1 year 2 mil deal for protection

    Truth

A bum? that's just unsubstantiated and overboard....he's looked like a young developing receiver last year with a lot of promise...and remember that was his first year of NFL action, so he's really the equivalent of a 2nd year guy this year. 3 years is the rule of thumb for NFL receiver development so he isn't even halfway there timewise, and the abilities I have seen are ahead of schedule.

Clowney is an unproven practice squad guy. I was as excited as you to watch him catch those two bombs in preseason. I also thought he made an excellent catch in his return to action. But that is all he's ever done. Not a knock, just not enough information to be penciling him in to any of the top 3 WR slots probably for the duration of the year.

I think Galloway would be an excellent addition. He's still fast and would fll the veteran role and hopefully mentor our promising youngsters.

Of course we have to grab a rookie WR to throw into the mix.

I haven't been impressed with Stuckey...I hope he proves me wrong
but even if he improves to being #3 quality...we still need help
From every report i've read...it seems as though the FO and coaching staff is going to give Clowney an opportunity to be more active in the offense and compete to be the #3

Galloway and a rookie in the either the 1st or 2nd is just what i'd do...

darrell jackson is an interesting thought.and for the record i want louis murphy.i know everyone says florida recievers don't translate to sunday but look at the kid play.when they neede to go deep and have the wr go up over the defense to get the ball the threw to murphy.all he did was run routes and make huge catches.
