Not Edwards. We should not bring in any FA Wrs at all, they never work out for us and neither do FAs CB work for us either. Only one WT in FA would I even consider and I beleive he's the real deal..........Chad Johnson. Anquan Bolton wouldn't be so bad either but I know Chad would fit in and shine. Not so sure about Bolton, is he just a systems player?
Reports out of Cleveland is they are looking to deal. Why not try and acquire Braylon Edwards Mangina likes Brad Smith. Offer the 3rd we got for Vilma and Smith for Edwards.
That would leave us without a third round pick, but if Edwards comes here - that's one more hole that's filled. We could go after a defensive end early...maybe a big time free safety prospect like Sean Smith. Jim Leonhard will be a starter, but he's just going to be a "hold-the-fort" type of guy; a role player.
Do you really think Brad Smith and a third could get Edwards? The guy is worth our first, third and Smith and that's a reach.
The Browns already got rid of 1 big playmaker on offense. I doubt they're looking to get rid of another.
He's not worth that much to Mangini. If the Winslow trade didn't involve a first rounder, I don't see why an Edwards trade would? Randy Moss was acquired for a 4th round pick.
We need a #1 WR Edwards is a viable option. Once Rex is done with the defense and the smoke clears could Housh still be on the radar. Baltimore never trully had a great #1 and they've had more success than the JETS.
He is worth to Mangini what he can get for him which is probably a top 6 1st round pick. Let's review: 25 three years in the league on a bad team 3,558 Yards, 228 receptions, 28TD's, 15.6 YPC no missed games.
That's the thing - no one is going to trade such a high pick for Edwards. He's a headcase, a drop machine.
He is the most talented young WR to come out in years and he has produced big time numbers playing on a crappy unorganized team with QB issues.
