Sheppard wasn't even getting nickel time at the end of the year in Philly.

If its a second and fifth rounder, he is going to the Pro Bowl. In that case its well worth it.

That's why a conditional trade makes sense... If he performs well enough, like he was a season or two ago, then it'll be worth another pick next year..

So the conditional pick is for next season?

Is it based on like if he makes pro bowl it's a 2nd rounder like Brett Favre's conditional?

The Jets and Eagles have agreed to a trade that will send a 2009 fifth-round pick and a 2010 conditional pick to the Eagles.
The 2010 pick could be anywhere between a second and fourth-round pick, presumably depending on Sheppard's playing time.

thats kind of wack... a 5th and a 3rd next year even if he's average?

I'd rather just give a 4th this year

The Jets and Eagles have agreed to a trade that will send a 2009 fifth-round pick and a 2010 conditional pick to the Eagles for CB Lito Sheppard.

The 2010 pick could be anywhere between a second and fourth-round pick, presumably depending on Sheppard's playing time. The price is too big for our tastes, but Sheppard would fill a big void opposite Darrelle Revis. We give the Eagles a lot of credit for holding on to Sheppard last year and getting this excellent value.

This is a good move. Let's see now the Jets have filled needs at ILB, Right Guard & Corner Back today. Still need a #1 wide out, tight end, depth an the D Line & LB spots as well as a safety. The safety spot should be resolved tomorrow with Leonhard.

All joking aside, we seem to really hit on our 4th round picks, so based on superstition I'd rather keep the 4...

    A 3rd and a 5th for a 27 year old starting CB isn't that bad.

    He'll be a nickel or a dime here...no biggie.

Lowery is the number two corner, unless the Jets draft one in the first round.

    Lowery > Ivy, Sheppard,McAlister...

Still a good deal. We get more picks for this year to build up the team. If it's worth a 2nd next year then Sheppard sure as shit will be worth it I'm sure... he would've played his ass off.
