OFFICIAL Jets to trade for Lito Sheppard Thread Merged 2x

I know everybody was pumped about last years FAs, but if Lito is coming to NY, and we get the Raven's Safety (Can't Spell his Name), then this will be the most excited I've ever been about our Defense.

 

Can someone explain to me why Philly wants to get rid of him for so little?

Sheppard has 2 p's in his name I believe.

 

I recall him being in the doghouse, or at least phased out of the rotation in Philly.

 

Great pickup. We finally have the corner to play opposite Revis. This defense could be very scary if they find some kind of pass rush.

 

I really love this move but question his health. WOO!!! I love Lito.

 

We still need depth. These moves won't mean dick if any of these big names we're bringing in get injured.

Hopefully we find an ILB (either on the roster or Draft - Brinkley?) and another guy for Secondary in case someone goes down. Wouldn't want to spend all this $ for naught.

 

Fantastic move. You get him for a fourth because the Eagles, like idiots, decided to shell out huge money for Asante Samuel when they already had two starting caliber corners on the roster, handed the new guy the vet's starting spot, refused to let the vet get out of town, and as a result, Lito was all but out of football for the 08 season.

Solid all-around player with good speed and athleticism, perfect match for this defense to pair up with Revis. I could not be more thrilled with this trade. Like a few other posters here, this is a guy I've wanted for a while. The days of the Jets being cornerless are finally in the past.

 

I'm ready to see Revis and Sheppard together

 

He wanted a new contract and him and the FO were battling all last year.
