He had the opportunity to refuse the deal. Or did you forget that part?

He made $13 million here. He would have made $20 million to stay retired

Green Bay offered him 20 million to stay retired. He made 13million here but the question is, did he ever REALLY leave GB or was he always at heart a Packer. That's the point of my post. If Scott still wants to be a Raven, he'll never really be a Jet no matter how much cash you throw at him.

Oh, I gotcha. I don't think it's a fair comparasion. Brett Favre played 17 years or so in Green Bay and then came out of retirement. Bart Scott is still young, and he would be playing for his former DC.

7 years with the same team is nothing to sneeze at either Steve. Evidently Scott holds that franchise in such high esteem that he's willing to use the Jets as leverage in bargaining with the Ravens...

if he really cares about how much money he has in his bank account above all else, even with matched offers you'd think he takes Baltimore given how much further his money will go there compared to in the NY/NJ area.

People keep saying this. We really don't know which team Scott actually wants to play for and won't until he signs. You could just as easily say he's using the Ravens to try to get more money out of the Jets.

I have to agree with Cman, Scott really wants to stay in Baltimore and is using the Jets to get them to play ball. Sadly, the Jets, being the SOJ, took the bait.

Or the Ravens are trying to just up the price the Jets have to pay, in order to protect some of their other players from being signed away by the Jets.

The DC Metro area isn't exactly cheap either, I know exactly where the Ravens practice and it's around million dollar houses. It's probably highly comprable to the area of Jersey he'd be living in. I think a guy that loves the media like he does would be more than willing to make a few dollars less to be in the media capital of the world.

Its a 40 Million dollar deal! People who make that much dont worry about how far their dollar will go from 1 state to another.
