Didn't Pete leave during or after preseason? It kind of bother me that free agency is just beginning and we've already lost 7 starters. Not that they were bad moves or anything, but it does make a lot of roster holes to fill. At least Rex is being proactive though.
I just hope we are getting Scott... because if we don't there is no reason to free this much Cap space...
I think that's speculation. It's too premature to say they will move Woody, especially if we get that C from the Ravens. He can play RG and keep Woody at RT.
Can we release the Woody Johnson and Tanny next?? Our on solid spot the O=line we just had to create another hole. The back ups we have BLOW. Remember the 2007 season.
Well, some of the releases we've had, I whole-heartedly agree with. This is not one of them. I thought the team would learn the lesson of nto releasing solid starters without having some sort of a replacement handy. Especially on the offensive line. I assume they will find a player either in FA or the draft... but if it's the draft, there will be a develpment period and if it's FA, we have no leverage. I don't get this cut at all.
They didn't learn from cutting Kendall. The o-line was garbage that year. So they do it again. Nice job!
I mean unless were gonna make a huge splash in FA I don't get this move either. Unless they think Turner or Hunter are ready. Who knows
Kendall was an asshole, though. Moore did nothing wrong. This release seems to be all about money -- our GM will take the fall if it doesn't work out. That offensive line in 2007 would've been in shambles even if Kendall stayed -- Adrian Jones/Brandon Moore, c'mon? No Alan Faneca or Damien Woody. The only offensive linemen worth a damn in 2007 was Mangold. Ferguson is much more of a pro-caliber left tackle now then he was two seasons ago.
I sincerely hope that all this talk of plugging in Turner or Hunter is just theories by the writers. Rex and all of the front office would be foolish to gamble with our offensive line like that. They are unproven and correct me if I'm wrong but haven't shown anything to warrant a starting spot. I have faith that they have a plan in place but it's this comment about Turner and Hunter that continues to scares me.
Guys we can arm chair QB this all we want. There must be a plan in place. The JETS are obviously arent clearing cap space for no apparent reason. I agree with the posters who say dont mess with the offensive line leave it intact. My only speculation is Moores unwillingness to renegotiate to be a team player. Whos next Gholston???????? Ya never know.
Don't like the move, now I'll be crossing my fingers we win the bidding war with Brown. Or Dockery, I could live with that
