I just heard on a sports talks show here in VA that it look like the Ravens will be signing Scott and letting Ray Lewis go. They said they would guess that Lewis would end up a Jet because it makes more sense but you never count out Dallas.
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who heard Ray say it at 31 Flavors last night.
Yeah Scott is going to be re-signed by the Ravens but Lewis is going to the Cowboys. Guess no Rex love.
lol, over the hill ?? Not yet. But hes getting on and could be the player to mentor some of our younger players. Sometimes theres more to it than jsut what they bring to the football field.
True, true, I just think we can get caught up in the "free agent market" spending frenzy and loose sight of building through the draft.....now if ya want a mentor (and yes still over the hill....lol) how about Derick Brooks?
I like the idea of Lewis' attitude on our team. I prefer the idea of Scott's skills on our team. I don't want both, I think Lewis coming over would maybe undermine Scott's position somewhat if he had already signed.
My thinking has been that once you make it to Feb 26 without a contract, why not wait until the end of the day. But Channing Crowder really shocked me, so I dont know.
And Brett Favre was better in 2007 than anything since 2002. Clearly the Favre of 08, was no longer the Favre of 07. So there is definately no garuntee the Lewis of 08 would ever be seen again. he is 34, that is really really old for any NFL player, forget the fact its such a physical position at Linebacker. Lewis may andI stress MAY have one more solid season left in him before the wheels fall off. I really dont want to give him a 5 year deal at 10 mil per for maybe one season at value remotely near 10 million. in summary, NOT WORTH IT. We just learned a lesson with Favre, how about we remember what we learned.
If there is one thing the Jets have been lacking it's a half-retarded spotlight-hogging Jesus freak who specializes in jumping on the pile. Oh, and stabbing people. On the bright side we'd get someone people hate more than Favre.
Ray Lewis would be a firm step back onto the treadmill the Jets have been stuck on for the last generation. You do not pick up other team's castoff stars and do anything constructive with them. You might improve the team a bit for a season or two but then where are you?
Minus the exaggerated stabbing comment, I kind of remember thinking the same way about Bryan Cox when we first signed him.
