Well we're definitely going after Scott or targeting an ILB in the draft (in whatever Round) because our ILB depth is now nil. I'm not against cutting either of these guys (although, I thought Bowens was going to stay). I'm interested now to see who we add to fill this hole. Or, perhaps Barton is staying and we'll just be looking for depth? Intriguing.

McCalister and Scott look to be ineviteable.Drafting a LB at 17 could be the plan. Things are going to get very interesting in Florham Park.
I honestly dont know enough about Bartell to say anythign about him. But I can say that Scott, Canty & Leonhard are not impact players. Canty with his career high 4 sacks even for a 3-4 end is not impact. Leonhard with his career high 2 INT'S is not impact. Scott with his 1 year with over 100 tackles is not impact when they guy we are getting rid of Barton has 5 seasons with 100 tackles.
I can't believe the amount of hate Bowens gets. He is a very good serviceable player who fits the 3-4 scheme and I feel would do good in rex's system with his versatilie.
You must be smoking crack sir. Bart Scott aka "mad backer" was the most underrated player on arguably the best defense. He was great against the run, and has a nasty streak. We need a player of his caliber and intensity.
What's interesting is that this puts us down another pass rusher. Granted Bowens wasnt the GREATEST pass rusher..but in terms of our overall roster he was above average. I'm thinking one of 2 things...possibly both... 1. They have faith in Gholston's development 2. They have plans to add a different/better pass rusher.
Yeah they're definitely clearing some space for signing an ILB. My guess is Bart Scott is a top target for this team.
he's our only starting ILB. I think Bart Scott is coming here. The defense will look nice next year. The QB situation needs to be figured out.
Kassell was a Mangini guy who disappeared last year. I like Bowens and hope we resign him. Both will be employed next year.
Dunta Robinson. A good young Cb who should be around when this team is ready to compete for a Championship.

ding ding - you got it..... Scott is the splash in FA and Freeman the QB in R1 in the draft....... if they cannot get Freeman or have sights on another QB then the pick will likely be used for WR or DE/DT. jil
