Lets see what the majority of the forum likes... I personally would like to stick with Clements... and Ratliff... I eventually want to see Ratliff get a chance at it.
I'd like to see an open competition in training camp. Let the cream rise to the top, Mel Kiper says that Ratliff has tons of promise. His opinion is usually spot on when it comes to young Talent. Plus after two years in the system, i think Ratliff should be well acclimated, with shotty's playbook by now. Given what i've seen and heard...... Give me "The Rat"
First off they wouldn?t have gone after Farve if they thought they had something on the roster. Ratliff showed some flashes and probably took them by surprise. We are definitely going after a Veteran and it depends on who they get to tell you their absolute intentions. A journeymen brought aboard is just like what they did with Vinny and that would mean they are trying to give to two young guys a chance to stand out and take the spot. Someone like Garcia would be a 3-4 year deal and that would spell curtains for someone on the roster. I want a veteran; Like Garcia, Bulger to be the guy.
I want to see a compettition ..we have three other Qbs and I really believe that one of them can step up and win games with this team. They have all had enough time to learn the offense bringing someone else in would only be a set back.
Pretty much the same as what he said. Although i would prefer Ratliff over Clemens, but let them compete first. Sanchez is there then you have to seriously consider it.
Let's just keep adding retreads and rejects year after year. That's the solution. First Favre, then Leftwich, then Vick, then .......... Great way to establish continuity and win championships. Leftwich was cut by the Jaguars in preseason for a reason, was released by Atlanta -a team with no QB -after losing his job to Redmond- for a reason, and he was a back up in Pittsburgh and had success in that role much like Charlie Batch did in years past. Why would anyone want this guy when he is a three time loser??? Maybe we should look up Charlie Batch???
absolutely not. WHAT IS THIS OBSESSION FOR SANCHEZ HE ONLY STARTED, what 16 GAMES???!? If anything the only college QB worth a first round pick is McCoy. And that would be in 2010.
I think you have to include "draft a QB as an option," maybe even more specifically, Sanchez/Freeman/Bomar etc (assuming Stafford is gone)
I don't want Stafford. He has the big arm, but I've never been too impressed with him when I saw it. I'd put him at about the same level as Freeman, and considering what we'd have to give up to get Stafford (trade into top 5), it's not worth it.
