How many teams ahead of us really NEED a QB and are willing to take one with their first round pick?

And if he does, we'll trade down.

Detroit, Kansas City, Seattle, San Francisco and Buffalo all have problems at quarterback.

Sanchez goes 10th to the 49ers, we won't get him.

Sanchez isnt going to drop to 17 for us to take. The best QB available in the draft when we pick will probably be Freeman.

Marc Bulger? 31 years old with a good arm and very good accuracy who when not with a god awful offensive line has shown he can throw the ball and throw it well. However he bailed out on a lot of throws this year which isnt good to see. I wouldnt mind bringing him in and letting him compete for the job with Ratliff and Clemens as long as he came cheap. Otherwise I would rather just go with a guy like Leftwich.

The Jets have to bring in a veteran QB this off season to compete with the guys they have. I wouldnt go after a guy like McNabb because that would basically be just giving him the job and I dont want to go that route again. Bulger is a little older then I would like at 31 but like I said I guess I wouldnt mind bringing him in and letting him compete with Ratliff and Clemens.

I will concede Detroit and SF....

But KC found a gem in Thigpen.... the Bills will hang their future on Edwards and draft defense like they always do.... Seattle has Hasselbeck.... they won't move away from him just yet.....

That leaves Detroit and SF.... No doubt Detroit goes QB.... but with Singletary at the helm in Frisco, I bet he pushes for a defensive stud.....

All allowing Sanchez to fall to us....

the viking are a qb away from being a serious super bowl contender..they could afford to give up high picks to move up...and again we need our own swag not someone elses washed up trash...

KC might of found something in Thigpen, but Sanchez has a lot of intangibles that GM's will like, i wouldn't be surprised to see KC or San Fran take it him, i would put it as about 30% he gets to pick 17.

I'm still not totally against drafting Freeman. Bulger isn't a bad QB given a good line.

    I would of thought so.

I don't think it's as bad as they are making out, papers always exaggerate things.

There's like a 50% chance Sanchez falls to us.

I agree that KC rolls with Thigpen, but Detroit & SF both need QBs and Hasslebeck is damaged goods (back problems stick around) and a new coach to boot. If Buffalo was wise they'd consider QB as well.

Prediction: Sanchez falls out of the first round. Maybe by a couple rounds.

This guy just stinks to me of a guy who gets the hype from being a part of a ridiculous program like USC, but when it comes down to it, just isn't anything special. They don't teach quarterbacks to do things like read defenses at USC, they just give them track star halfbacks and power forward wideouts and let them sling the rock around. Just one man's opinion, but this guy is no Carson Palmer, hes not even Matt Leinart. Hes John David Booty at best. He's getting talked about now because theres only one other big name quarterback in the draft, but once the draft machinery gets rolling and some guys from MAC schools and such start to impress people, this guy will drop like a stone.

Anyway, personally Id prefer to see us spend that first rounder on something else and give Clemens or Ratliff a shot, Clemens was hardly anything special in his 8 starts but he wasnt atrocious either, and there are other ways to spend that pick, especially if there arent any quarterbacks they particularly like at 17. Give me Clemens, our running game and Jeremy Maclin and I predict a winning season.

aren't there better qbs coming up in next year's draft? maybe we do "manage" somehow this year (with clemens/ratliff/veteran) and then go for a good one in the draft next yr.
