sign leftwich, and then Kellen Leftwich and Ratliff can battle it out, whoever wins will have the keys to a Ferrari anyway, if we get a corner or safety in the draft and sign either Bart Scott, Ray Lewis or Leonhard our d will be sick and we already have a sick running game, not to mention coles and cotch with emerging stuckey and Clowney

Yes he did. And this guy is using Kellen's games against some of the best defensive teams in the last ten years......
Pitt and Baltimore are well known for their D, yet Kellen held his own, with a patchwork offense. How soon people forget and just throw out buzz terms they heard on ESPN like Happy Feet and mechanics and progressions.

I agree, I think with our O-line, and the run game being the main focus for opposing Ds most likely because of Ryan's mentality, Clemens would be in a situation 10 times better than 07.

Shhh...don't mention the fact that he was running a Chad Pennington tailored offense. I tried doing that back in 07 to defend the guy and was roundly criticized. I watched many an Oregon game back in the day and was always impressed with him. Granted, that hasn't translated into success in the NFL, but like you said, he hasn't had an honest chance.

i hope they give clemens a chance... even though he wasnt great in the games hes played i still think he will be able to be successful with the type of offense rex ryan wants to run

Leon Washington won that Piitsburgh game in OT with his punt return. Clemens statistically was worse then Pennington. I am worried to say the least. He has shown no pocket presence at all.

Mortenson just said (for about the 1 billionth time) that the Jets don't have the conviction for Clemens. So there you go. ESPN and two totally different opinions. I go with Mort's as being more tuned in with what the Jets will do.

It's as simple as this and I'm going blue in the face saying it.

If Kellen Clemens has a good O-Line, he will be fine. I am confident in his ability and it's really not fair to compare him to other QBs who have HAD a good line to work behind. When he was the starter for us, we had NO line, pee wee kids could have hurried him. Now we have one of the most complete lines in the whole league! If anyone else gets the nod over Clemens, it's a mistake.

A good OL means nothing. He couldn't throw the ball within 5 yards of his receivers in '07. He had the lowest rating among all QBs in the league, the lowest completion percentage. He absolutely stunk and this OL didn't provide any protection at all for Farve last year. What they did is improve the running game. I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, Clemens will never be the Jets QB again. Not unless everybody else gets run over by a bus anyway.

Fine...by your standards NC State and Michigan are the greatest QB schools in the history of football.

Show him a pocket before you expect him to show any pocket presence.

I'm willing to go with KC. Let's see what he can do with a running game and an oline.

We need to draft a QB and perhaps get a descent veteran for now. I hope we don't trade our top talent to get one.
