during the tour what was funny is the Club seats have there OWN entrance, they use elevators with doormen, there concessions are completely off limits to the non psl people.

the parking for the suites are free, psl which is second closest is $35 and the outskirts will be $25.

i then said in front of everyone "i thought america did away with segregation?" where is president lincoln when WE need him?

Don't you mean that the club concessions are off limits to non-club members? club and PSL are two different things. Loved your line about segregation though...

The parking situation is an eye opener, although I'd pay $10 less per game to park a little further away. My fear is that they would only allow tailgating in designated (more expensive to get in) lots. I picked up on this two years ago when they touted "special lots with the ultimate tailgating experience" or some horseshit like that. Any insight about tailgate only lots? Are there?

It would stand to reason that in this complete fleecing they would find a way to extract money from something so many enjoy but they make no direct profit on - the tailgate party. You could argue they do make money from it - solely by attracting bodies to meaningless games.

    Thanks for your reports.

the people who buy the PSL's on the sidelines, lower and upper have there own separate areas. these PSl's seats are called Cubs Seats. the end zone PSL's get nothing.

the jets will be renting grills with designated areas for people and YOU CAN BUY THE FOOD FROM THE JETS. NOT BRING YOUR OWN.

THIS IS ONE BIG MONEY MAKING SCHEME.

isn't the state spending like $300mill to come up with better/wider roads around the stadium to make it faster to get in/out?

"the jets will be renting grills with designated areas for people and YOU CAN BUY THE FOOD FROM THE JETS. NOT BRING YOUR OWN."

This needs further clarification - If they are renting grills and selling food to cook in the lot, that's smart business. People may prefer that over bringing their own stuff even if it means spending some more, but if they will do this and make it illegal to tailgate with your own supplies, that would be criminal. Half of us would stop going to games.

If they allow you to bring your own and cook your own as has always been the case BUT shuttle you to a designated "tailgate" lot and charge us more to park there, then they are reaching into our pocket to extract more money from us for something we enjoy. That's reason for anarchy.

I've been suspicious of them ever since reading that in the first propaganda piece that went out in October. I'd like to get this cleared up prior to making a PSL decision. Can you imagine if only PSL holders can tailgate with their own food and grills? WOW.

Were you able to get any answers on some of the previous questions that were asked? Like a dome and how the people on the waiting list are handled?

You forgot to tell them about the state-of-the-art pay toilets in the uppers.

You swipe your credit card at the stall and a bowl-installed sensor can tell whether you went #1 or #2. It's $2.00 for #1 and $5.00 if you need to make #2. Need extra toilet paper? No problem... available for a $1.00 surcharge.

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing, folks. I agree with the sentiments above about everyone needing to be informed to make smart decisions.

The tailgating restrictions sound like bullshit. I can't wait to get details on that.

Maybe "tailgating" for me in the future will be wake up really early, fire up the grill and crack some beers on my porch, eat/drink/be merry while watching TV or sitting outside, then walk to the train and get to the stadium by kickoff.

Don't worry, it will all change when Woody finds out he still has 50,000 unsold PSLs at the end of the year. This economy is not going to improve one bit in '09 and no business will spend a penney on sports because of how it will look to their employees and their stockholders. Even the government if they are one of the millions standing in line for a handout.

This thread is kind of a fun read. I never bitched about the Jets being a second class organization only a losing organization. You could always go to a game whenever you felt like it without season tickets at a reasonable price. The Jets are no longer a second class organization. Everything is first class. First class costs more than coach. The people in first class make more money than those in coach and they don't want people who can afford coach in first class.

There are advantages to being a second class organization especially if you cater to the masses. The Jets have decided to cater to the rich. The irony is they made the decision to abandon the masses just when the rich were becoming part of the masses. SOJ.

The problem is, the Jets fans are not rich. And first class prices for a coach class product.

Certainly they aren't rich anymore. For years all you heard from Jets fans is we are second class citizens playing in Giants stadium.

There is a cost to being a home owner and a lot of people who took the plunge from being a tennant to an owner are finding out the truth of home ownership, Jets season ticket holder included.

I'm not unsympathetic to the plight of the season ticket holders but this is what they wanted for years. They just wanted it on someone elses dime. The fact is we all have choices. If we want to stop bitching about the rising price of sporting events we have to stop paying for it.

Actually I did follow that basic plan at least once in the past. One cold game the season before last a couple friends and I knew we were taking the bus in. None of us had prepped properly for a tailgate, so we just drank some beers while watching NFL pregame shows then commuted to the stadium in time for kickoff (carrying a couple beers in our pockets for good measure since we weren't driving). Wasn't that bad, and it was cheap.

Nothing like the tailgating environment at the stadium, but it worked OK that Sunday.
