Suit yourself, but buyer beware. Not everyone around here is that gullable, fortunately. You honestly don't think they'll be charging you more for a hot dog? LMFAO. I suppose your ticket prices won't be escalating either.
I'm an outsider in this conversation, but what I think 227 and Champ are trying to say is that once you are sucked in to paying the PSL (or not if you have upper deckers), your ticket cost can go from $90 in 2010, to $125 in 2011. There is no "known increase". For example, I think people would rest easier knowing that the tickets can only increase a max of 5% per year? But without something like this in writing, you are buying into a huge unknown. What if you pay all of this money for a PSL, and ticket prices jump 40%? Then what? Then you are out all of this money up front, and you cannot pay afford the game tickets anymore. And I know personally from being in the Mezzanine like 227, we have seen ticket prices jump in some crazy increments, which are not necessarily uniform throughout the stadium. So what I think they are getting at is not necessarily doom and gloom...its all part of the world we are in. You see Yankee tickets with a face value of $2,500 now...so what's to say the Jets don't charge that much in 2014???
That's not right, Leon was not cheap, he was loyal to a fault as in Joe Walton and Rich Kotex. He paid Belicheat 1mill to take over for Parcells and paid Bill a ton also. He wanted to win as bad as we did.
Right on the money and absolutely the case. They ran our Mezz prices through the roof at a much higher percentage of increase every year, yet never "justified" anything because they didn't have to, period. The main point after experiencing that is, don't rule anything out. There will be those who will heed the warning and those who won't. But hey, I'm glad 2004 wants to do this. In fact, I should be encouraging him, not pointing out the hosing he's about to get. The more the merrier downstairs as it's one more PSL sucker increasing my chances of remaining PSL-free in the Uppers. PSLs are a terrific idea fellas! Especially if you have lots of seniority!
EXACTLY!! All we need to do is convince 26,999 more people that downstairs PSL's are a great idea, and we'll be like Uecker, IN THE FRONT ROW!!!
Well, I'm still on the waiting list so my only option is most likely going to be a PSL or nothing. I'm curious to those on the mezz level moving up. You said your ticket prices went up over the years. Can you give an example? Like what did they start out and wind up at 7 years later? I'm just trying to get as much info as I can so I can make the best decision possible when, and if, my time comes up. That's why I'm curious about champ's statement about the stadium being fitted for a roof already. I had thought they did away with ever adding a roof because the costs would be too much and the owners wanting to play "northeast" football. If they are designing the stadium to eventually be able to get a roof then that's one more piece of information I'll have to consider.
I'm officially on the PSL bandwagon now. Best thing since sliced bread. Look for future posts touting the tremendous advantages. Woody can't possibly raise ticket prices because he won't be able to justify it! That especially holds true for hot dog prices. And these PSLs are probably the best investment I've ever seen. The tickets I purchase will be easy to unload at face value too, if I can't attend. And those preseason games are always well worth every penny! I can't wait for Nick to call now... where do I sign? What an unbelievable value.
I wouldn't use the possibility of a roof in your decision making process. I would just realize that these ticket prices can and will go up in price, but how much remains to be seen. The Jets can say in 2012 that they are re-paving the parking lot and jack up tix 30%. Or, as in the past, they just use a new calendar year as an excuse to raise prices. Mezz seats were $115 each this year...And I don't remember what they were 7 years ago, but they were probably $60-$65 range. So they almost doubled in price...using this logic, your $120 tickets can quickly become $200. So you're looking at $4,000 a year for two seats... That's what you need to realize when making your decision...
I don't think anything has changed in that regard, KS. The Giants were always flat out against the roof, so it would surprise me, actually, if they are fitting it for one. But that's what's so great about these PSLs. They can't possibly ever justify charging more for any future capital expense of any kind, so I know this will forever be the extent of any charges. The Jets have always taken the fans into consideration, in fact, it's probably been their foremost consideration. This is a terrific value to all of us. We have to jump on this as soon as possible before all the PSLs are gone!
I love it! You should probably include this link in your signature!! Call now, operators are STANDING BY!! http://www.newjetsstadium.com/contact_us.php
I wonder if I'll be able to just stay on the waiting list each year and when they call me to ask about the seats, I can say "no upper deck non-psl seats available? I'll just stay on the waiting list until you have some." My friend that I go to the game with would be more upset than me.
For God's sake, quit being so negative. So what if that's what happened over the last 7 years, this is going to be different! These PSLs are an INVESTMENT that will double, maybe triple over the next 7-10 years. Guys will be begging to get in on any resales and bidding the prices throught the roof. Of course, they're going to have to raise prices a little on some of the seats, but they couldn't possibly justify large increases like the one you're mentioning because that's a thing of the past. This is a NEW stadium... state-of-the-art... a whole new ballgame. No more lousy tailgates with all the smoke... never did like that anyway. It's much better to go inside and have 5-star facitilities awaiting you. That's really what I go to the game for anyway... for the stadium experience. Not much into watching the game... I've always concerned myself more with the color of the seats and the cleanliness of the rest rooms. Food is a big thing too... I want quality, not those hamburgers outside in the freezing cold. This is something I can take my friends and relatives to and show off how successful I've made myself. They'll take a look around in envy, saying to themselves, "Gee, I wish I was as smart as 227 is, getting in the ground floor like he did with these PSLs... look at him now... what a deal that was!"
Wait until the whole country is out of work by next season, see who buys the PSLs then. I will be able to get into the new Guangdong Stadium probably for what used to be 5 cents.
http://www.seats3d.com/nfl/new_york_jets/ Take a look at your new stadium. Big deal, 4 HD screens that won't show replay's unless its pro jets. Other then being cleaner, whats it gonna matter to me who will tailgate, go tomy seat with water and sandwitches and take one piss, right before the half. What a waste
No. Let's just bitch about the PSl's on a message board, and complain that the Jets are taking all our money. Holy cow, i am going to be at a Jets game, they are going to charge me a fee to get online to buy a soda, then charge me a fee to take a dump in the bathroom. No way I am going to the games any more. I've had enough of paying the Jets $10 each time i want to take a dump. Must be nice to live in the 227 household.
You're just the kind of fat slob I don't want sitting next to me, so I'm going for the PSLs. You and your sandwiches and water. You'll be envious as hell when I'm in my VP lounge sipping my Pinot Grigio and snacking on fried calamari appetizers and mozzarella sticks. And as far as taking your piss, I don't want to hear about it. I don't know about you, but I'm the kind of guy who takes toilet paper and lines the seat cover with it so I don't pick up any germs. Well, I won't have to do THAT anymore, like you do. I'll have my immaculate rest rooms, as pictured in the brochure, where everything will be sanitized and nice to look at... unlike where you go, which is probably outside in the parking lot in one of those Porto-Johns. Disgusting! No, go ahead and sit up in your PSL-free seats, just like the cheapskate that you are, even thought that's where most of the old Jets fans will be, the ones that supported the team and went to every game and still do. So what if I the guy next to me is a Pats fan, an optomotrist in town for the weekend on a convention, and next week it's some guy doing a real estate seminar who happens to be a Lions fan. At least I'll be sitting next to PROFESSIONALS who want the finer things in life, like upscale football stadiums and 5-star restaurants when they go to a game. After all, isn't that what's really important?
If Macy's is still in business 10 months from now, I want to kiss your ass in Macy's window on New Year's Eve for stepping up to these PSLs. Honest to God, if there's one of you out there, maybe there are lots more. I certainly hope so. Good luck son.
