Do you think the Browns can make the playoffs next season with the coaching change? And do you think we will trade Kellen Winslow this year?
    Adam Schefter, NFL Network
As crazy as it sounds, I think the Browns can make the playoffs next season. It was at this time last year that the Browns bandwagon filled to capacity. Everybody was jumping on it. So it's many of those same players, and they should be hungrier after getting embarrassed last year. I like the team to make a playoff push. And I think they absolutely will look to trade not only tight end Kellen Winslow but also wide receiver Braylon Edwards. There are enough teams interested in wide receivers. If any are willing to trade a first-round pick for Edwards, that deal should be made immediately.

The guy is very good, but he does drop a ton of passes. Would you trade our 1st for him? And do you think our 1st would be enough... and do you think Mangini would like to deal with us?.. He might feel as if the Jets screwed him over.

Nope. We have a receiver on the team with hands like Edwards already and his name is Brad Smith.

edit: For clarification I'm simply comparing there HANDS. Obviously Edwards is the far more talented receiver.

No...very few players in the NFL have even been worth a 1st.

If the Jets figure they woulda used that 1st pick on a WR anyway then yes I would trade it for Edwards. This guy is a #1 WR no questions asked.

It was mentioned in the daily news today that Derek Anderson could be looked at by us but Mangini may not do us any favors though. So great we have to deal with Mangina now too

Mangini won't be the GM. Anderson is obvious if Favre doesn't come back but as I said in an earlier thread today I wouldn't offer more then a 4th for him.

I would try to work out a deal where we send a 2nd and a 3rd the following year, or something to that effect. A first might be too much...

A 2nd is reasonable for Edwards. Remember, Moss went for a 4th. Fitzgerald, Boldin, maybe a couple of others would be worth 1sts but not many, especially receivers.

Any deal for Anderson might require a conditional third that could hit a first based on performance, as well as probably a certain 4th in next years draft. I mean I really don't know that so I guess I'm talking out of my ass here but that's probably what the compensation would look like.

As of now he is a benched backup with a contract. That doesn't call for a big trade and if they can't make a deal they will cut him. Maybe a conditional 3rd but I would still stick with a 4th if I could. Hell, by their own admission they think Brady Quinn is better. What would you want to give for Anderson based on that????

Yes good point, if we are going to draft a WR, then that trade should be done.. I like the guy alot, and maybe the bad hands was just indicative of his lack of concentration. Which can be fixed , we all know hes an athlete..

I would be very surprised if our first pick didn't go to the defense. Braylon Edwards doesn't help us become the "most physical team in the league". That said, two years ago he did have 80 catches and 16 touchdowns....

    Oh Hell no!

Edwards drops too many Balls. I'd rather sped our #1 on a receiver then trade it for him and I want no part of drafting a receiver in the first. This trade would be a huge mistake.

Braylon Edwards has IT. We need some of that here. I would take it. He is the number one receiver on any team except the Cardinals. Ain't no one better than Fitzgerald.

I was actually thinking the same thing after I looked it over. I guess if you have a ton of balls thrown your way, you're going to drop more. It would be better data if receptions were included.

He'd be the number one on Carolina over Steve Smith?

    In New England over Moss?

    In Houston over Andre Johnson?

    In Detroit over Calvin Johnson?

    In Green Bay over Jennings?

No way in hell. To even think something as stupid as that shows bias or ignorance to a high degree. Edwards is a decent receiver. He's not great. He has had one year over a 1000 yards in a 4 year career. He was 31st yards receiving this year. Not in the top 30 in receptions. He had 3 TD's. He's not in any way worth a first round pick.

Coles and a second rounder this year and a second or third next year for Braylon Edwards. Draft Moreno with our first, free up some cap room from dumping coles, and sign edwards to a long term extension. Thats what i call building for the future.

Next year we do what we gotta do to get Stafford or McCoy.

    GET IT DONE TANNY!!!!!!!!

Nope. Considering Moss cost NE a 4th and I believe Philly gave up a 3rd for TO, no WAY is Edwards worth a 1st.
