The ball kicking is always an imminent possibility with this franchise.

I really don't see Rex not accepting the job though. I think he's thrilled he's getting an opportunity to come into a team already built for his style of defense, one that had a measure of success compared to the other HC openings out there, (Rams...Raiders...Lions...ewwww) and it's a team his father also worked for.

I will be a little uneasy till he is under contact. Realistically though, I don't see any way he walks away from this. This is a great fit for both sides. As much as I would love to have him here early next week, I want Balt. to win, I have heard enough crap from the Steelers fans!

Yeah, we had better hope Ryan says yes now because the alternatives are all gone.

This is pretty interesting...maybe a deal has already been struck.

"The strong feeling from inside the organization(the RAMS organization) is that Rex Ryan will be the next Jets coach. Ryan had been the Rams' No. 1 candidate, sources told Mortensen.

not only his style of defense but he does get to utilize Kris Jenkins for a whole season.

I now believe that since Mangini did in fact change the whole defense to something no one was confortable with it hurt everyone including the big guy... Ryan won't do that.

So, who's gonna play the part of Ray Lewis on the Jets' Defense?

Sorry Rex Ryan fans, I think the Jets blew it once again.

Yeah, because, like, Tampa fans are so informed and all. I know people who live in that area and they think the average Buccaneers fan is a blooming idiot.

Shouldnt you be looking over your shoulder to see how you are going to get kicked in the ass? Or are those just some mighty big balls you have?

Wait... a non Jet being hired as a head coach elsewhere.. and no forum Police shouting that this has to be moved to the NFL Forum yet? I am in shock. There may be hope for this message board after all.

Guys, I have a bad feeling about this. Ryan being the only real option? I feel like we might be getting Schotty as our HC.

Why? RR has said he wants to be a HC. The only vacant spot is Oakland.... If RR chooses Oakland over us then he was never the right guy to begin with and he'll be back coordinating defenses in 3 years.

Guys, I'm surprised on the low esteem you have for our franchise (ok, ok, I know but...) what if Rex is geniunely interested on coaching us? I think that's actually the case, not that "our team is the only one left"

a lot of good players here, and I think most in the NFL knew it was the coaching... hopefully the right guy gets here and the right QB. Thats all they need.
