Fat man saying jets have 3, what he terms, "first tier" candidates for HC. In no order.
    Spags
    Grimm
    Rex Ryan.

He also said, Spags interview wasn't bad, but was "solid". Not spectacular.

Didn't Francessa say that the interview with Spags did not go well?

Francessa is "friends" with Tannenbaum. Which, I suppose, makes him his puppet.

    I just heard that, too.

Love the Brad Baxter avatar, Murrell2878. Good stuff, we could have used him on 4th and 2 in Seattle.

Never know with the fat man. He is close to TannyEsq, so there could be some validity to it. I personally am pretty much all in for Rex Ryan...

He always taks like he knows more than he does and when he's wrong he rarely, if ever, acknowledges it.

Baxter was an amazing goaline back. Probably the best we ever had (off the top of my head)

Yes he does both those things. And has for 20 years. Still makes for great radio. That is kinda what I meant by you never know with him. Sometimes he seems to be talking out of his large posterior, sometimes he actually does have inside information.
So you take his "tiers" with a grain of salt. Or at least I do.

Interesting, I'd still rather have Grimm or Ryan over Spags though. I just look at the Pitt coaching tree right now and think Grimm probably is going to be a good HC too.

I don't really want Grimm. He could end up a good coach one day but an offensive lineman mindset is not what I envision this team needs.

Totally agree... I think spags coaching in same building as Giants is a tough first job for him.

I believe Francessa has his sources, but last week he had Marty as the top candidate and was throwing Keith Butler's name around as DC.

Supposedly he was the favorite to replace Cowher. Then Tomlin came in and blew the Rooneys away but many were shocked that Grimm didn't get the gig

I would love to see Butler as DC...he has all the potential in the world and since this team never hires a proven coach he is the next best thing.

Ugh. Why even have a second tier at all, if that's what it looks like?! It wouldn't surprise me in the least if I got my hands on Tannenbaum's trapper-keeper and found "Sundayjack" listed up the top of Tier Three. Geezus, this is painful to watch with interest.
