They beat San Diego whi is still alive in the playoffs and had they not beaten NE then NE would have been in the playoffs, had they not beaten Denver then Denver would have been in the playoffs. They struggled to beat crappy teams, we couldn't beat crappy teams. He was close in '02 and '04, losing in the div rd is close and if his kicker makes one of 2 makeable kicks in '04 we are in the title game.
Peyton Manning had a bad running game this year and he won MVP. Favre actually put up better numbers last year before Ryan Grant emerged.
The Eli throw to Tyree was a blind throw, it was thrown up for grabs. Tyree made the amazing catch. If he had a team around him like Eli had he could definitely win a SB. You guys are acting like he just lost as the SB favorite. he elevated a weak team to 11 wins.:lol: did a guy w/ a username #4kicksA$$ just tell me that?
2002 vs Raiders 2004 vs Steelers (he was hurt) 2006 vs Patriots 2008 vs Ravens All strong aggressive attacking defenses. 0-4. Can we stop with the Chad is/was the answer threads? He was always as much limitation as anything else on the offense and he always will be.
And Trent Dilfer won a superbowl. Just because Chad was close and Dilfer won the big game does not make either of them good Quarterbacks. Close only makes you the second or third loser.
all things being equal, I'm glad the dolphins will have to be the team that goes into camp with chad as their starting QB. He will not get beaten out by his competition, and at the end of the season, it will be all for nothing, false hope!!
What does our struggling against crappy teams have to do with the Dolphins? You dont know either way if Chad beats the crappy teams as a Jet this season.
They were 1-2 in the regular season in games against eventual playoff teams. beat Chargers and lost to Cardinals and Ravens
He won the MVP on his name and correct me if I'm wrong his season is over, right? except he lost to an 8-8 team not an 11 win team.
and today...2009, he would struggle winning a punt pass and kick event against Sally Struthers. On second thought..he might win the kicking events because Struthers couldnt see the ball..but no way the passing competition.
Chad and the dolphins took care of business against bad teams w/ half the talent we have. If we would have taken care of business we would have had a bye this week.
He carried THIS colt team on his shoulders. Give it up Junc. He won it on his name? Yes...his season along with Penningtons season..is over.
He is 2 and 4 with 8 TD's and 8 INT's in 6 playoff games. Granted he was only healthy in 4 of them. He had excellent D's and excellent running games in both 04 and 08 and had a deep threat WR in both years.
Thats a fact? I mean i'm not a Favre fan and agree it was a bad move but...... I dont think Chad beats the Pats in New England. Just to use that game as an example. We dont know what would have happened if he was a Jet this year. But the one thing I would agree strongly with is that we are not winning a SB with him at QB. Therefore it was time to make a move.
He had one of those fantasy years. I will give him that. All the mirrors worked for the Dolphins...and next year they will flounder. It happens almost every year where a team plays over their head. There is nothing in Penningtons past to make you believe he will duplicate this year. And lets face it..the best quarterbacking done this year by the Dolphins was with him at receiver.
In '02 and '08 his teammates didn't come to play either. In '02 Coles dropped a TD and had a huge penalty, Chrebet the same, Coles stood and watched the game changing INT. In '04 our Kicker missed not one but TWO makeable FGs! and Chad was playing w/ a torn rotator cuff! '06 at NE was a game in the 4th qtr, it turned on a fluke play. You act like we had no chance in any of those games when we had chances in all of them. We had a cake sched this year w/ basically the same staff but we had ALOT more talent. What was the difference?
