Agreed at the end of the day he is what he is. A mediocre QB with a ton of heart but cant make all the throws.
They just showed a shot of Parcells after that 3rd INT. He's either extremely sunburned or pissed as hell, because his face is beet red.
You are ignoring the numbers he put up over the course of a 16 game season and calling him mediocre based on one game that isn't even over? Where do you get this sort of logic from? Wow.
The way Pennington is playing against a good defense today is the way Favre played against BAD defenses down the stretch. This is what we watched all year with Favre. I'd still rather be watching the Jets today than the Dolphins. And why don't the Favre apologists make the same excuses for Pennington. It's the lack of a running game, bad play calling, bad defense by the Dolphins, the receivers can't get separation, and Pennington is probably hurt. In any event, it may have been right to move on from Pennington, but bringing Favre in as the replacement rather than developing a QB was still the big mistake made by the FO. The real thing to point out is that the Ravens are pressuring Pennington and that is the key to making ANY QB look bad. The focus for the Jets this offseason should be to develop a pass rush.
maybe a bit of a stretch but having seen this play out before also helps make that conclusion. mediocre sums up chad pretty well he can look great at times and very very bad at others.
He's mediocre because he's mediocre. I don't care about his 'QB rating' or other nonsense stats that are heavily weighted by his 3 yard completions. He's efficient vs bad teams cause his short passing ability is very accurate. Good defenses beat up on him cause he doesn't have an arm. That makes him mediocre.
Why can't someone be Anti Favre and Anti Chad? It seems like we've set up two camps here with one being on Favre's side and one being on Chad's side. I dislike both of them and I feel like a lot of people are with me on that one now.
im not trying to make excuses for favre, but i still dont hate that we dont have chad either. obviously neither one would have been the answer this year. we obviously need someone new hopefully a young guy we can develop. all this performance shows me is that we wouldn't have ended up much better with chad.
If Pennington had won the starting job and we won 10 or 11 games we would be stuck with him for the next 3 to 5 years sucking in the playoffs. Favre sucked but getting him forced us to win or move on. I'm happy to be rid of Chad and Okay if Favre is gone. The Jets need to rebuild and rebuild around a good young QB. It's okay to recognize Chad's limitations and the fact that the team lacked the balls to play Clemens this year or Ratliff and be happy for a short term option. The QB competition was the kiss of death on starting a young QB to move on.
you will now be called "classless" by chad fans because you are rooting against the qb of a division rival.
